Why do parents make their children observe them, especially the ones that require fasting?

I had a kid come into my class today and looked really out of it, come to find out he couldn't eat or drink until noon (class starts at 9am). He ended up passing out while on the pommel horse and his mom wondered what could have caused it. I have never wanted to smack a person, back hand of course, so hard in my life.

I don't think understanding the context of "fast" doesn't not make it funny.

there might have been too many negatives in there idk what I just said. Anyways, don't need to read the original post to think that darwin/natural selection making blax fast is funny.
