    GTX 670, 301.42 drivers crashing

At any random time within the first 10min of game play, my display drivers crash. This issue only occurs on FFXI, BF3 and Dead Island work perfectly fine.

Has anyone else had this problem with the 301.42 drivers from nvidia, or the gtx 670 itself?

you are using a card that fundamentally by itself could probably run FFXI. Its almost assuredly just too damn powerful to properly play the game. If it can handle a driver downgrade, I would go for that, its gotta be an issue with the newer drivers and incompatibility with them, which is super common for FFXI

Well, I play games other than FFXI which benefit from the gpu.. Otherwise I'd be using on board graphics to play this game.

nVidia hasn't released any new drivers since May, which is why i'm asking this question. It could be these drivers causing problems across the board, or just with my card.

instead of going older, could try the latest beta drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-wi...ta-driver.html

Yeah I tried 304.47 and 304.79 with no luck. I also use Driver Fusion (formally known as driver sweeper) when uninstalling my drivers, so that's not an issue either.

Turns out it is a driver issue as I expected, but it's only with the GTX 670 GPU's. The current work around is to disable shadows and weather effects in games.

It hasn't crashed in days, where as I couldn't play for 5-10min before.
