There are some good french ones...I'll admit I wasnt a big fan of Tachi's group back in the days, but they seemed to have really pulled it together very well. Also a,A LOT of JP players have this midset that "NA BAD NA SUCK", and its hurting them, because 10 years ago "NA BAD NA SUCK" was true, its not like that anymore.

Either way, there are bad players from every part of the world.

When I used to play with JP players there were some really good players and tons of poor players and the good players definitely knew the poor players were poor but when the game was all about numbers (Einherjar, camping multiple time spawn NMs simultaenously etc) it made perfect sense to use them.

Also, Euphoria, an EU LS on Siren led by Briak was a damn good LS. I remember Briak being heavily criticized for blinking too much and for having too many gear sets. This was back when it sort of was taboo to openly talk about using spellcast and what not.

The best part of the whole us/eu/jp argument is how do you definitely know where someone is from? I could say I'm from Ireland and my playtime is from 6pm-10pm Est because of my work schedule. I'm from Michigan btw. It's probably just me, but I don't agree with using a blanket statement for quality among nationalities. Unless we're talking sports. Then it's US>All!!

The vast majority of all players are terrible, but when you're accustomed to playing with a relatively small group of the NA playerbase who happens to be capable, you forget that your group probably falls in the ~5% of the population. When you take that same diminutive % of the population and apply it to such a tiny group of people, you end up with virtually all of them being headpants.

Can't say the same about the Japanese though. They're like their very own ecosystem. We have so little communication between the two groups that I can't in all good conscience lump them into the same categories.

i visited odin back then 3-4 years ago. that server was packed as hell ¬.¬ wait times to enter nyzul isle back then was 30 min minimum. And I'm not gonna start about the contest you have EVERYWHERE there.

I dont know tough if it is the case nowadays on odin.

Asura has the highest server population. Although FFXIAH states that it is in the middle as far as active players go, it is crowded as hell, but not in a good way; it's overflowing with mediocre to poor players.

As proof of this, try to hunt down info about actively recruiting Asura shells. Further, ask all the people who have left it, like me. It's a cess pool. If you like sewage, though, jump right in.

If you want to make an educated guess, research the various servers' populations, active players, endgame recruitment posts on FFXI forums, and AH sales. Research and hard data can be better than a collection of opinions.

Ah. I'm familiar with that reference but hadn't heard it be named specifically. I always heard americans used it in other countries to avoid getting robbed since some other cultures assume american=rich. Obviously we all know better!

There are good and bad players on every server. I am originally from CaitSith which was an awesome server, but we were merged with Ragnarok and the experience has been less than stellar. Don't get me wrong, there are many awesome players on Ragnarok, and many of those came from CaitSith, but there are also terrible ones. Take Vevla for instance, this guy came into the game and somehow figured out you could leech jobs in abyssea from 30 to 99. So what did he do? He never leveled a single job past 30 the normal way. He leeched every single job to 95, then 99 when he conned an unknowing LS to do his LB for him. Check out this to see what I am talking about: vevla.site90.com

I guess my point is that it will probably be the same on just about any server. There are always those new players who got invited to XI by their friends, who are shitty players to begin with, and they end up being the same. Not everyone who is new is a bad player, but most of the 'good' players are the ones that have been playing since the beginning, even if they quit and came back a few times. They understand the game mechanics and are good at certain jobs. While I love the ability to level sync with friends on different jobs, XP fast with GoV/FoV/Abyssea, these things have been abused so badly that there are gimp players all over the place. I wish there was a way to change this behavior, or keep certain content closed off to those who haven't put in the 'blood sweat and tears' to cap skills, fully augment weapons/armor, get all atmas, etc. It's not that I want to be divisive, I just want to separate the wheat from the chaff if you know what I mean. Maybe that is being divisive...oh hell...
