Plot, atmosphere, detail look amazing, but the gameplay looks rather boring. The fact that in one of the video interviews they mention you can never really get lost because of the directional markers ruins it for me. It goes against the whole dystopian theme. Some people might like it, but I rather enjoy the reward of discovering new paths to new destinations and solving pathing puzzles in settings that are unknown or alien (i.e. dystopian Paris).
I actually like the concept... a lot.
This comes out on Tuesday, no?
I'm mixed. Ill prolly end up getting it, but am unsure about the game. I'm guessing reviews will be around 6-8 based on what I've been hearing
If anyone likes spoilers, an entire playthrough is up on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/metralhoso/videos
Unless that is skipping stuff, game seems super short. That's around 4-5 hour game
Anyone been playing this?
I've been intrigued by it since first announced but the reviews haven't been too favorable.
Waiting for a price drop. If anything like RE6 it should be bargain bin in like 4 weeks or less
I am loving both the scenery and the music in this title so far. Both are outstanding, creatively. I actually can't speak much to the story or the combat much yet as I am only on 'chapter' 2. What limited combat I have done though, well I would agree that it is very Batman Arkham-ey as most reviews tend to mention. I like it. Super limited combos now, so we shall see what changes as time goes on. I really really really love the music though.
Oooo I like! Reminds me a bit of the Matrix
Totally agree with Doombear, the audio is fantastic and I'm really enjoying the visuals; definitely play this in French with subtitles though, wasn't a fan of the English VA. I'm also only on chapter two, but this game feels frustratingly linear; which is really disappointing. Hopefully it opens up more in the later chapters![]()
Booh, hoped this would turn out to be something cool... Instead, it's a meh game, with mediocre story and gameplay, I think memory remixing and pressens (after you unlock all of them the battles gain a new depth) were the only cool thing. Well yeah, music and visual were good too, but ;<
The game is definitely hindered by the control issues, linear environments, and a sometimes iffy camera. Totally playable though, and the story made me want to keep playing through the frustrating bits. All the nuance in the audio is really well done though, I loved how the music changed based on how well you were doing in combat; and the score itself is really fantastic. A solid start for the developers, it's an interesting world that I'd really like to explore more.
so not amazing but definitely... memorable?
Played 20-30min and uninstalled, combat and platforming were just meh, story might have been ok but after just beating Bioshock and Tomb Raider and The last of us dropping friday I couldn't get into it.
