So lame lol. I got tickets like a week ago and now they go on sale?
I done fucked up lol. I was just recently reminded that there is a wedding coming up on the same day in Sac so I will miss yet another one of these concerts. My excitement blinded me to this overlap.
So I have 1 free ticket (possibly 2) I'm willing to give away to anyone who wants it. Only tradeoff I request is the ingame code for the FFXI Baton item they're giving away at the event.

Oh shit yeah, I'll take tickets! I live in SF and I just couldn't spend the money on this concert right now...
If it's just 1 ticket, I'd pass to someone willing to go solo, but I would prefer to take someone, so if there's 2, I'm totally down to go and I don't even play XI anymore so the baton code is useless to me. :3!!!
Ok I have 2 tickets avaliable. One of em was one of those handicap seats for the wheelchair, so they offered me another ticket a bit closer in the general area. They both should get you in but I doubt its gonna be fully packed so if you wanna sit together, I dont think it'll be an issue (cant guarantee anything).
PM me if you're serious and we can work something out tomorrow or thursday to meet. Im in the SJ area but can easily take the bart wherever.

ff11's 11th anni will be the one to go to!
I understand that this is a once in a lifetime event, that's why I got tickets before even checking if I had plans on that date.
For most weddings I would skip it for the concert but this one I can't miss. 1st cousins wedding and we are very close and she is expecting me to be there. I just couldn't believe the timing of this entire situation.
So, just got back from the concert. It was pretty awesome, I must say. Really well worth the price of admission and there was a lot more people than I expected. The hall was something like 1600/2200 capacity I believe. I'll get pictures and some recordings up some time in the morning. I managed to sneak in some decent recordings before I got caught due to the guy next to me pulling out his phone as well.
Definitely awesome and worth the trip. It was a little loud in the orchestra section though; the percussion in particular was a bit overpowered in some sections, which was kind of disappointing because it became distracting. More than a few people recording with various levels of discretion, so expect to see stuff showing up on Youtube soon.
Lots of nostalgia and those goosebumps moments, particularly during Fighters of the Crystal, their Sword Swongs medley (the Clash of Standards half was great), and Melodies Errant. Kumi Tanioka was amazing, as usual. I don't usually watch much of it because I prefer to focus on the music, but the accompanying footage was actually pretty decent at points; the level down during Fighters of the Crystal was amusing and elicited a lot of sympathetic laughter from the audience.
Hopefully they put an official recording of it up, although that seems less likely since it was the same setlist as the VanaCon concert last year and that's already available. So very much worth it to hear in person though.
Got wrapped up in work and thought this was next week.
Oh well. My loss!
No Susan Calloway for Distant Worlds btw. Haven't uploaded my vids yet, but in the meantime, here's someone elses~
My Sanctuary of Zi'tah recording is corruptanyone know how to repair video/audio files? It was definitely one of my favorite pieces of the night.
Sounds like its rushed ever so slightly. I like the the change from "but one question I still hear" to "for one question I still hear", fits the song better.
Edit: Just looked at the FFXI twitter feed. SE needs to make those box art posters on sale. NOW.
Just got back in town after visiting CA for the concert. Loved it! Sanctuary of Zi'Tah was the best song for me.
I laughed pretty hard at the AA level down (not sympathetically). I also enjoyed:the level down during Fighters of the Crystal was amusing and elicited a lot of sympathetic laughter from the audience.
- repeated upclose footage of Ronfaure crabs
- White mage in frost robe fighting Zeid (best they could get at lvl 50!)
- Tunga + all the chigoes
- no one laughing at any of the abyssea NMs -except- Tunga + all the chigoes
- the guy behind me exclaiming, "That's sea!", and my bf immediately asking me, "What's sea?"
My one complaint is that the guy next to me was completely absorbed in running the noisiest apps possible on his ipad and not watching the performance.
