I'm thinking the end of September will be the end of 1.23 and server shut down. If you remember, the last chance to get legacy status was the end of June. Add in 3 months and you get the end of September. Any later then you could still have obtained legacy status subscribing in July. 1.23b will probably come in a few weeks with the final live event so that's fitting the timescale too.
Fk. That SHOULD give me enough time to finish Behests and get a commando group pumping out Camp Leve Achievements.
Surprised there hasnt been more videos posted maybe with some better focus / clarity?
Are they just releasing the same info and stuff every day? Also doing the same thing in the same zone in the gameplay
I personally dont think their gonna take 1.0 off line until december. The legacy campaign info and dates were the dates when they could GARUNTEE subscribers legacy status, however with yoshi saying hopefully jan/ early feb for 2.0 launch, and possible 1 month to migrate current player data, that leads me to believe December.
3-4 months of no XIV, with occasional beta tests thrown in would be, IMHO, a bad thing, and I think they know that.
Yoshi also said he wanted 1.0 to run through the beta's also, and he's sorta been on point for doing what he says he's gonna do.
I would love that too.
A similar scenario in WoW, I generally lead the dungeon parties. One particular dungeon which was remade, before the last boss, is basically on obstacle course that includes:
(the place is set on fire) Avoiding fire and doing a jump off a safe ledge
Dodging falling rocks and more fire
Fight 2 bosses, then another obstacle course involving slow spinning electric poles you have to slip buy
Followed by a quick rush using high speed to the boss while fighting off some wolves
Everytime I get to this bit, loads of people die. But I always tell people "If you're good at Mario 64 you should have no trouble here!"
Granted, many people die and go "wtf" but it seriously is a challenge to some. If you're a seasoned gamer with good perception than this area is actually no prob. But in WoW ... no chance.
But a good fun dungeon nonetheless.
I would love to see them add stuff like the deadmines remake's platforming. It was generally hilarious in PUGs.
He's said jumping is just for easing travel enjoyment only and there would be no platforming. It was part of the interview that Reinheart translated yesterday.
Found it:
Are there areas where you have to use chocobo’s jump to be able to reach?
Y: We don’t have any place set where you need to use jump to get up. This is not an action game so I don’t think it’s right to have people feel “I don’t want to do this anymore” for those not good at climbing steps. We have it where you can jump anywhere so even when traveling through the field so I think it’s enjoyable.
I see, so the jump action was added to enjoy the traveling.
Y: Yes that is correct.
As long as they don't put ledges/steps that end up like this scenario I'll be fairly happy:

For a more practical example: ordelle cave steps. If jumping does not assist you in any way at all in travelling a tiny bit quicker so you don't have to walk around the step then I consider this a sin lolThe basic Insurmountable Waist Height Fence is an obstacle, usually between ankle and chest height, that the character(s) can't climb or step over simply because the game doesn't include such an action.
They jumped over several fences in the crappy video...
So he won't be having an Attowah Chasm-esque climbing event.
The only problem with this logic is that we don't know if they'll be shutting down the servers while beta is going. It's likely that they'll shut them down when/before open beta, but for closed beta, they probably only need one server going. Since legacy only mentioned beta without specifying open or closed, it's probably just indicating closed beta.
