there is not much that gets people in more anticipation than leaked info. they'll be fine.
Another jp interview popped up, not much new info, but they said that the dungeon you see in the gameplay video (I think it's the place they run to at the end on their chocobos) is a new dungeon.
Well, the way they were explaining how they wanted primals to work threw me off a bit, as they made it seem like summoning stuff was more of a "super rare, but can be done by anyone" sort of thing, therefore making Summoner as a job not really all that possible/viable.

Assuming the picture with Yoshida in front of the class list means something (9 classes), the 9th one is definitely arcanist and the 8th's name is a lot shorter. Fencer?
They said that if they have a Summoner, the class/job won't summon the actual primals like Ifrit/Garuda/etc. The line about them being able to transmute the primals' essences and bind them to their will suggests summoning lesser or alternate forms as pets... although the wording makes me feel like they might transform into a player/primal hybrid... but I doubt it.
Can't say I'm surprised about Summoner, but I really wanted Red Mage even though it would probably end up being as useless as XI Red Mage is now.
Speculation: Guessing only the arcanist familiars will be out full-time, while the summoner's primals will appear for one attack and then disappear (would look pretty sweet in the new engine if it worked like Yuna in Dissidia). Yoshida definitely said he didn't want a ton of players with primals following them, but the page clearly says that summoners control them in some form.
Summoners will probably work something like they did n FFXI. You never actually summoner the real Avatar (if I recall they were called Primes), just a portion of it.
I am so excite!
I noticed in the screen caps arcanist is listed as DoM yet summoner says "job system". makes me wonder if a. they just hadn't finished the page yet or b. there's going to be a third class type that they haven't named yet....
I do feel really bad though this got leaked. I mean, it's not that big of a deal, but they've been trying to hard to do everything right this time around, and this must frustrate them.
I would have enjoyed a system where all jobs had access to different summons instead of it being a stand-alone class, but oh well!
Now the only thing that's making me think is how Arcanist is gonna work.
Obviously it seems to be a job with it's own inherent magic spells based on the description, rather than just summon Carbuncle and have to do all your abilities through him (a la FFXI) which is really exciting, since the biggest flaw of FFXI's SMN was how useless it was when it had no avatar out. You literally have no way of doing anything productive other than whatever your subjob gave you.
I'm so curious as to how they're gonna implement this... I can only pray info'll be out soon.
AWWWWW YEAAAH, Arcanist and Summoner.
Place your bets on the next class/job people.
Musketeer ->/Corsair/Gunner/Alchemist. Ranged DPS/fuck yeah guns/Item usage
OR
Fencer -> Red Mage -> Melee with Enfeebling and Support spells.
Wonder if Arcanist will be as useless as the rest of the classes (except THM)
Can't say I wouldn't love me some guns.
Any word on beta/alpha or signups? Are they still using the secure FF website or have they changed?
