I still believe that meriting on birds at 75 was the best thing XI ever offered. It was the one activity where effort and reward had a nearly limitless ceiling.

Gotta agree, in terms of fun. Ballista itself was fun, but it died too quickly. XPing in ToAU with merit chains hitting the 200's when it first came out was amazing. Before everyone caught onto the good spots; before people considered 200+ chains a walk in the park; before everyone had the nastiest gear at the end of the expansion and just getting the walmart turban's haste with some other goodies, put you in a very, very strong category. Before salvage bans and cheaters getting what they deserved.

The hours spent popping red curry and sporting a haste build with a HQ mezraq, homam and conte, dropping 1.8k pentas on mamools in the back of the zones and nearly getting killed when super jump was on cooldown ranks in my top 3 XI eras, without question. I didn't even need the merits; I was maxed before ToAU even came out, but shit, I loved to fight, and that was good fightin'. Fucking backflip hurt so much. D:

Um, Nyzul Mamool was a middle-tier camp, because it did not have enough mobs. It was not particularly difficult to kill all the Mamool and lose your chain because you were waiting on repop.

Nyzul Mamool was slightly better than front MJSP but slightly worse than north MJSP. I would say it was roughly equal to birds-only (no wivres), if you didn't have enough firepower to chain wivres.

It was a great feeling to be able to meet so many fans of the FF series and the FFXIV players who cheered me on, took photos and came to the signing session.

Also, with regards to the couple that I had met at JapanExpo (I’ll keep your names anonymous), they told me at the signing session “We will be getting married soon!” and when I arrived back in Japan I received a letter with wedding photos of the lovely couple. I am really intrigued by the shining Cactuar cuffs on the sleeve of the tuxedo (lol)
I wish you both a life of happiness!
We are preparing a cathedral so that you can get married in Eorzea as well, so please look forward to actually having wedding content in the game

^_^ Had one in FFXI with my husband. He did better there than our real wedding.
Was nice to have an event where our friends who couldn't be at our real one could attend at least a virtual one.

I wouldn't put that as a top priority for 2.0 though, haha.

Edit: You know how long of a wait/line there was o.O
It was like people were getting married every day all the time.

Kinda off topic, but in FFXI, gay marriage wasn't allowed (even though I'm sure 50%+ of the females were dudes in real life). I wonder if they will allow it in 14.

I smuggled my stuffed moogle to my wedding for the getting ready pictures but my photographer didn't give us any proofs with it

I am half considering bothering them about it. I mean -- I did go through all the trouble of bringing it but then its sort of an odd request in the first place.

The extra tidbits were nice, especially since everyone is blue balling for ARR. Its been pretty dead on all fronts the last couple of days lol.

when we get our chars back for ARR, will they start @ lvl 1 or we get to keep our char progression?
nina was 50 everything battle classes and 50 armorer. Do i loose all this or no?

You will keep all character progression. All items (except for maybe dated shit they are removing), all achievements, all gil, all titles, etc.

All progress as of the November 1 2012 maintenance will be kept.

tho i will prob lvl another char just to experience all the new stuff. But will feel weird just logging in after 16 months and being @ max
