Tobey was a shit spidey. I personally think Garfield was a decent spidey. Though, I still wish he was in Civil War.

I think Garfield is a great Spidey, but Toby was a better Parker.

A fair distinction (and one I pretty much agree with), but I would also say you could at least partly attribute that to the way the roles are written. In Toby's movies Spiderman and Parker have very distinct identities. In Garfield's movies, Spiderman is pretty much Parker in a suit.

To be fair, thats Marvel in a nutshell vs DC.

Marvel heroes don't change overmuch when they put on the suit, they are still themselves.

DC heroes always are dichotomies(fuck, did I spell that right?) of each other: Superman, Batman, etc. They have a face persona and a superhero persona.

Spiderman is arguably one of the few Marvels that has an even slightly distinct split. Maybe Daredevil does? I don't read him enough to know.

It's somewhat fitting too, considering the Marvels that do have a split also maintain a secret identity. It makes sense.
