I have to wonder if Joss Whedon will have the star power to resurrect Firefly after these amazing Avenger's runs.

I think its more about the pain, and others involved in other projects with different studios.

I'm sure Joss could find someone who'd be willing to bring the show back at this point, but I doubt Nathan Fillion wants to give up Castle even as much as he loved Firefly. Personally, I think even if everyone wanted to come back, it's just been too long. They couldn't recapture the spirit of the show. That being said another movie could work. Maybe even a trilogy to wrap up the story with Mal's valiant overthrow of the government... or because it's Whedon, Mal's valiant death in the attempt to overthrow the government.

Neither Stana Katic nor Nathan Fillion have signed new contracts for a 9th season of Castle yet I don't believe. A 9th season is possible but not confirmed at this point.

Joss has even said that too much time has gone by now. Not to say you couldn't set a different show in the same universe and make it work very well.

2011 would be what, during season 3-4ish of Castle? And he would still jump at the chance.

I get the concept behind being a bit too late. They'd need to erase Serenity to get Tudyk back in, IMO, and maybe do a time skip since it's been over a decade. Or maybe leave him dead, but I think the fans would forgive a retcon...I guess the most realistic scenario would be to do a time skip and any cast members that can't commit for the series would be replaced by new crew members and come back in for a guest episode for flashbacks. But I mean, it's an amazing concept and Mal is a great character.

I think the biggest problem with Planet Hulk is making it look "not" cartoony. That is awful lot of CG for one movie.

After watching the first two episodes of Daredevil...EVERYTHING in the MCU seems cartoony by comparison.
