Absolutely loved it. My only gripe was with

    Spoiler: show
Hulk + Widow taking up WAY too much screentime. It felt like they had the same conversation about running away together 2 or 3 times, which just felt unnecessary to me.

I doubt we've seen the last of Quicksilver, what with how hard they fought to get the rights to use him. Didn't know about his multi-film contract beforehand, but I guess that settles any doubt there might have been. Classic Whedon swerve, HawkGuy doing the whole "Two weeks from retirement" trope only to "kill" someone else. But yeah, solid A+ from me.

Biggest reaction from my theater was a tossup between laughing at everyone's reaction to Vision picking up Mjolnir and "Elevator isn't worthy"

I wish Imax didn't have to be 3D Is it worth seeing this in IMax 3D? or just regular 2D?

Movie was amazing, but I did have some annoying people in my theater. I will never understand people that clap in movies.

A large man sat in front of me and made his chair recline into my lap for the duration of the film. He also rocked wildly and laughed loudy quite often.
    Otherwise I loved the movie.
    Spoiler: show
They're really trying to set Tony up for the heel turn in the future, looks like. Shame, was hoping for a "whose side are YOU on!?" angle with Civil War.

I went to midnight showing because I wanted the clappers and the "oooh"ers and the general revelry. Guys, it's an action movie, just enjoy the other people around you having fun! Have fun WITH them, for chrissake! That said, my theater was actually quieter than I hoped/anticipated but I had a very enjoyable time.

Saw the movie in 3D and honestly... I don't understand people who don't like 3D. If it gives you a headache, that's one thing, but to think it doesn't add anything to the movie, ESPECIALLY a big budget movie like this in a time when 3D technology is FAR better than it ever has been, that baffles me. The movie was BEAUTIFUL in 3D and worth every penny. If I went to see it again, you bet your ass I would pony up for that 3D ticket. (Jurassic World preview was also in 3D - and looked just as amazing). There are certain scenes in this movie that just blew me away mainly thanks to the 3D, such as (minor spoiler)
    Spoiler: show

the lab that Banner and Stark use while they're working together, which is mostly glass and just full of gadgets. Astounding crispness and it honestly looks like you're staring straight into that room and not a flat picture on a screen.

If you have ever enjoyed 3D, I recommend seeing it that way.

As far as my thoughts on the movie,
    Spoiler: show

I loved it. I don't follow the comics, never read them to be honest (though I would like to start), so I don't have any basis for whining about plot changes or whatnot. I'm going in blind and I loved every second of it. The effects, acting, the characters, Whedon's amazing script and the way he writes such natural interactions and hilarious jokes - this is what I love about the Marvel movies and especially The Avengers. The action I could take or leave, but with SFX the way they are now it's always a joyride to watch these movies. We've finally come to the point I think where what's on screen is as good or better than what I can imagine in my own mind for any given (written) scene.

I didn't have any strong gripes - Ultron is a better villain than most, it's just too bad nearly all villain's motivations are A. revenge or B. wanting to take over/destroy the world "for everyone else's benefit". Actually it was kind of both this time. So predictable but I wasn't going in expecting to be wowed by that aspect of the story. I am glad I ended up liking Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch so much; with the hype their addition to the movies caused I was afraid I wouldn't think much of them, but they turned out to be sympathetic characters with interesting powers. They added some new moves to the group that were really fun to watch.

I do wish that a little more came from the "dreams" SW gave the Avengers. Especially with how Tony's dream played out, I really wanted him to have a moment near the end of the movie, but I guess the movie isn't solely about him and he kind of had his big identity moment in IM3 anyhow. I do feel like a bit more could have been done with that anyhow.

Definitely looking forward to the end of the story of the gems and how that all goes down. Cannot wait.

Btw, did anyone else notice billing for the Ghibli Laputa robot in the credits? I didn't even see it in the movie...I wonder where...

tl;dr 3D is awesome, A++ would watch again.

Drove 2 hours to see it in IMAX 3D. It was worth it. This movie is gorgeous, the theater was sold out and people were laughing, clapping during the movie and having fun. I live in a redneck town, so being in a theater filled with nerds was a first for me. Highly enjoyable, everyone see this asap.

Oh yea that got a huge pop for us as well. I really don't mind clapping in movies like this. Had a great crowd that ate everything up and I feel it just magnifies the fun

So the morning after, the only real thing I'd change about the movie is the runtime. I'd love to see the 3+ hour version of this movie. COMMON MARVEL! You know we'll sit there for 4 hours watching this awesome stuff.

    Regarding the movie itself
    Spoiler: show
The scenes that were in the movie were great. I thought characters had an overall good balance.
I felt the Thor bit with the pool of water was a bit rushed. Also, I kind of wish, if all his people were dead, we saw Hela in the background. Those are really minor gripes.
Maybe a bit more exploring Ultrons motivations, but I guess they didn't want to go too long.

I think the loudest reaction in our theater was the star wars trailer.
