It wasn't literally a computer as you would typically understand it to be- it was just structured in a way analogous to a computerized AI. It was more like, say, Cortana but not based on a donor's brain patterns. Sentience, both for this fictional gem and in reality, is just a result of complex and vastly numerous connections.

And I'm just saying, pushing it as "Oh, hey. This Infinity Gem is just a computer" instead of "Oh, hey. We can use this Infinity Gem to grant sentience to a defense program we're working on" felt really, really awkward to me, and diminished the mystic quality of the gem. In a universe that's going to have Dr. Strange, that feels like a super weird choice to make.

I don't think 'inspirational' is the right word for what you want, but I get the idea. Science/Magic go hand in hand in comics. I wouldn't worry over a pure scientific explanation of the staff because "magic"

So finally got a chance to see this after going on a media blackout. Movie was fucking awesome and I loved every single minute of it. Hawkeye, the way they used Hawkeye, too damn good. Renner doesn't get enough praise IMO.
