UPS Battery Back ups/ surger protector

I just purchased a ups battery backups of up to 900W since my pc outputs in 750 I figured I required at least 750 so I went with 900w to be sure. I was wondering regarding these, I know they only work in case of a brownout or a blackout, but I was wondering if I am not there to properly turn off my computer is it the same effect or is it better.

Basically lets say my computer is on, a blackout/brownout occurs. I'm not there to turn it off am I in the same situation as if I did not have one of these?

it came with software as well i'm wondering what the software actually does <_<

edit: Nvm just a way to check things on it.
It has a carbon emition thing and I have this in the room I sleep in. . . Is this safe to sleep in or is it poisonous to have this in a room you sleep in as well?

I dont use the software as Im always home. Basically if the power goes out and doesnt immediately turn back on you can power down the computer yourself. It will keep your machine on as it provides continuous power. Mine which is very similar to yours will keep my machine on with 1 monitor for about 30ish minutes before it starts whining at me, more if I turn off a few hard drives.
Just dont plug your speakers into it, they chew up way too much power

starting to think this wasn't a wise purchase for my health afterall and might end up returning it. I keep reading about the odor actually being bad for you and since I sleep in the same room as my PC I'm not sure what type of long term effects this could have. Didn't even think of this before but now I keep reading things that are iffy.

something about if they're faulty they can leak lead acid fumes, don't think I can use it because i dont wanna sleep in this. Thanks anyway apologies ><
