There is a huge difference between Elon Musks's Neuralink and implants that dr's and researchers have been using for years to help people who are paralyzed or have seizures.

If the way they describe their own technology is accurate, then they are doing basically nothing novel. I guess it represents a commercialization that will make the technology more accessible, but he isn't the only one trying to do that and honestly it is only marginally worth using the technology in extreme cases right now:

What amazes me is that this thread and its title came long before Elon's true insanity started being displayed so publicly. At the time Tesla was up and down but not necessarily crashing. (If I recall it was over worries regarding Teslas being involved in questionable crashes)

This lines up perfectly with Rivian coming to market with their truck. (conspiracy theory time: Elon sold off tons of Tesla stock to invest in Rivian instead and is now killing Tesla to help boost Rivian instead /s)

Over really minor stuff from what I have heard. My boss has a Rivian truck and loves it.

Rivian is definitely a luxury brand though and I don't know if they have any plans for other levels of vehicle. These electric car companies all seem to occupy the same space but the good news is they are pushing the major manufacturers to make more electric models and the major brands are making a wider variety of models.

My main gripe with Teslas is the fit and finish along with terrible paint. My 2018 Model 3 doesn’t have any real crazy panel gaps but there is a small gap in the roof glass where it meets the frame. I didn’t make a big issue at the time because I had figured since it was the first year there were going to be some alignment issues. The paint, there really isn’t anything that can be done because California OSHA law compliance contributes to how they do the paint which is much softer than other brands. I haven’t had a chance to compare paint to the Model Ys that come out of Giga Texas, but I would assume the paint is much better.
