I'm tempted to get one but trying to sell my I5 since I hate the charging infrastructure for EVs still. Probably some adapters now for tesla charging for my I5 but I still have free Electrify America and it sucks ass.....why does everything by the name EA suck so much ass? Early Access, Electrify America, EA itself lol

Am I seeing it correctly that the Cybertruck is going to run every electrical system in the car through one wire?

I assume you are referring to everything being wired in serial? I don't think they could even do that if they wanted to, so probably not.

Maybe one big singular wiring harness/single giant cable running the length of the vehicle but everything running through a singular wire is not how electricity or digital signals work.

The articles I just poked through details the jump to 48V system that's run through several controllers. Normally a 12V system would connect all components to a central controller bus. Reports state that this architecture reduces wiring by 77% and total copper by 50% over a similar sized vehicle.

From what I have read the big change in the wiring of the cybertruck is that it is using networking cabling and PoE to power everything. The wiring harness is comprised of Cat6 cable which makes it cheaper and less custom. All my IT groups have been joking about selling spare cat6 cable from network closets at a huge markup to cybertruck owners.

This thing is supposed to be huge and heavy right? How long till we see a report on the evening news about a drunk Cyber truck driver pancaking a dozen cars on the freeway?

What I remember when the Model Y was in production was that there was emphasis on the wiring structure. The Model S had about 3 kilometers of wiring and the model 3 has about 1.5. The Model Y was reduced down to 100 meters. This was an effort to save weight and reduce complexity. Cat6 cabling on the CyberTruck with PoE is very interesting though and I wonder how much of an improvement it would be if any.

I will be first in line to recycle my MASSIVE pile of network cables to sell to cybertruck owners.

I think the idea behind it is that the cabling is non proprietary and can carry a lot of data and voltage. Though after installing several starlink systems for people I can't imagine that Elon would allow anything non proprietary around his toys. He like making people spend obscene amounts of money on stupid cables instead of following standards.

(I have very strong feelings about the stupid network cable between the starlink dish and the router.)

The subtle drama between Disney and Elon Musk has reached greater levels. Many noticed that the animation company removed their advertisements from X due to certain disputes regarding political opinions. However, it seems that their platform is removed from Teslas as well in retaliation to their advertisement removals.

Vulture states, Tesla cars no longer support the Disney+ app, leaving drivers without access to the streaming service. Reports suggest this change might stem from Elon Musk’s anger over Disney pulling ads from Twitter, which he also owns. Some are voicing out their frustration about the situation, highlighting the inconvenience for parents and children.
Elon really pulled this stunt? Even more of a whiny baby then I thought, if so.

So you buy a car for all the features that come with it tech-wise. Then you find out, a feature is removed from your car remotely because the CEO of the car company is also the CEO of another company and that company has beef with another Company. LOL!

I mean this is why you don't let some fucking moron own everything, including the right to control your car's software. It's no different than the gaming scene.

No, the Disney+ app is still there. If you don’t use it, it gets removed from the Theater screen but it is still accessible. I have it on my car still and we use it but not as much as Hulu.

So OpenAI is open sourced in the same sense that Autopilot is actual, functional self driving?
