Just because you wanted to waste your yearly harvest on a shitty car doesn't mean the rest of us can support it. Those crops go to the Lord.
That's just part of the default "murder you" package that everyone gets free of charge.don't Teslas have no displays at all right in front of you? you literally have to look away for any info at all
This is why I dread buying a new car someday. I want to be able to just open the door, get in, turn the key and go. No updates, no having to mess with a touchscreen to switch gears or other things. A car should be a car not a damn computer.

Only the Model 3 and Model Y do not have the instrumentation cluster behind the steering wheel to save on costs of having a second (now third) screen. On the Model S and X, the main tablet screen is for maps/nav and infotainment stuff. The cluster behind the wheel shows speed and a display of your car relative to the environment based on what the sensors see. On the Model 3 and Y, the maps are on the right side and the car autopilot display is on the left with the speedometer in the top left. The speedometer position, while odd, you get used to it in a day or so.
I don't have to touch the screen to do any of those things. My phone's bluetooth is connected to my car so I can just ask Siri to play a song or playlist for me. Volume and track skipping can be done via scroll wheel on the steering wheel. Also you can map a function to one of the steering wheel buttons. Mine I have set to Fan speed, however, you can use voice assistance accessed via a press of the scroll wheel which will do all of these things.
Cars have been computers for quite a few years now. If you need a phone app or phone similar device to tell what is wrong with the engine, you are driving a computer.
I think back fondly on my small block Chevy days. My 2015 recently had a power steering issue that required them to replace the entire rack because it is all one integrated computer that they don't sell in pieces. I basically just walked around for two days saying "uh, I hate this so much"
We're totally moving toward a system where cars, houses, and everything will depend on a subscription to work properly.
Bethesda gonna join the auto industry and release 50% complete cars
wait, that's every video game company now
DLC: 4th gear - $2000
BMW already tried to charge a subscription for enabling heated seat functionality, and got quite the backlash.
It's crazy how much shit and plastic shrouds they cram under the hood these days as well. There's no small easy task, just a pile of headaches to get to where you need to work.
I had a 91' model Ford Taurus that I bought in the early 2000's that had only been owned by a little old lady that didn't drive it very much. It felt like it was brand new. Driving it off the lot brand new. When I saw the ad for it and the mileage at first I didn't believe it. Thing was like a tank but it drove real smooth. I loved that car.

My 1st car was a fucking 88 Chevy Caprice Classic. That thing was a monster. I lost brakes on a hill in it and my only thought was "oh fuck i'm going to plow through so many houses" but luckily was able to take turns I needed going 25-30mph. I slammed that shit into reverse on a hill, seized up the fucking engine and was able to turn it off. 30mins later it started up just fine lol. Sold it for scrap and it's engine which was worth more then the actual car it was sitting in.
80 Caprice Classic here! Also had to shift into park going down a hill one time because it lost the rear drum brakes and apparently the front disk brakes hadn't been working for a while. Anyway new cars are computers and we hate them
not sure where this goes but this guy is the biggest fucking loser imaginable lol

in case it gets media limited by Musk, dude was driving when the accelerator pedal slipped off and wedged itself against the frame and remained engaged all the way down. Driver managed to stop the car fortunately.
It's only a matter of time now before somebody panics and shreds through a bunch of Toyota's in a 40mph zone.
Uh, not sure about what laws and regulations say but common sense says that merits a recall of all models involved. Pedal getting stuck is damn serious and this is more of a general design issue rather than an isolated one.
Yeah, but Musk is a genius. Why do you hate his success?!?!
Sales of that POS halted until gas pedal issue is corrected.
