Went in thinking it was just your standard spoof clone website thing but holy shit....

    - One time passcode isn't one time, can be reused and it's not even a race condition you need to program for, dude literally casually typed it back into the app
    - No notification sent to owner about a new key being added...what the fucking Tesla? but notification happens when removing a key

These fucking cars are such pieces of shit

Uh, no on the first one. The wifi login website was fake, the one time password was never "used" until the hacker attempted to use it to login.

Pretty overblown and hardly an issue. Don't login to random wifi access points.

(You would think you would get a notification for that, though...)

True, didn't think about it not being used at all and capturing it. I hate OTP stuff like this for this reason though, especially text/email OTP stuff. Always love getting a cleartext email with my OTP and other info from some sites

Well the notification is a certificate error since the cloned site won't have the same cert as the original but people are trained to just click "Accept I don't care" when visiting sites that pop that up. Easier said then done though about not logging into wifi access points since like in this case, seems apps just don't show that invalid cert warnings so you have no idea even if looking for it depending on the app.

Free trials for everyone as long as you can afford the purchase price (~$400) and you must sub afterwards ($120/mo).

    https://www.cnbc.com/2024/10/11/tesl...xi-reveal.html

Tesla shares fell Friday after the electric vehicle maker’s long-awaited robotaxi event failed to impress investors.
CEO Elon Musk revealed the company’s Cybercab concept vehicle and said consumers would be able to buy one for a price tag under $30,000.

I'm sure no one will be shocked when some dumb fuck buys one and it kills their baby.

Seriously. If they really end up putting these into production it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. We are not at, "I, Robot" level yet and thinking so is ridiculous.

It seems like he's reached the "Cry Wolf" stage. After making these kinds of promises and claims so many times, only to let everyone down repeatedly, no one takes him seriously anymore. It's clear he's just full of empty talk. And as for the two-set taxi idea? That's honestly one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Not entirely Tesla related but I do like Musk talking about how he was an illegal immigrant and how he was in a PhD program but actually wasn't.

To give an idea how shit internet is in rural Ontario, I'm paying $105/mo for 10mbit down (megabit, not megabyte) in the year 2025. Starlink easily hits 50mbps+ in this region but for $140/mo.
Of course the Provincial Gov has given Bell, the main lines supplier, healthy incentive to actually expand their infrastructure across Ontario, especially in the wake of the pandemic years ago, but they pocketed all that shit.

At least the pandemic finally pushed Canadian ISPs to offer unlimited bandwidth options (at a price) in the wake of WFH becoming a more common thing?

I think that traffic is always measured in blah-bits-per-second. So when someone has 1 gigabit internet, they can download 125 megabytes per second.
