The LEAF EPA range is only 151 miles.
You certainly can go 250+ in a controlled situation at 20mph or whatever, but no one should expect that as the norm.

Anyone can order a Model 3 now, with $2500 non-refundable. Delivery in 2-4 months for performance, 3-5 months for big battery/interior upgrades ($49,000 before tax credit). Smaller battery/standard interior (the $35,000 one) is 6-9 months away, not available for order yet.
Elon got sick of people hassling him about not helping the people they want helped, so he's offering to pay for water filtration systems for any house in Flint that has lead levels above EPA standards.

I mean, it's not hard to see why a lot of Americans in 2018 would want their best eccentric billionaire help American kids with more gusto than thai kids.
Not his problem, why isn't the gov doing something, etc.

Its also anti-musk left trolling because, lets face it. Someone can punch at Mitch or Cruz and the shitheads don't care enough to give a response. But Elon Musk? That dude is crazy enough to post at you.
Props to him on doing that.
Fuck it man. He can be a crazy asshole all he wants if he is going to keep trying to help people like this lol.

Tesla accused of lying to investors and putting customers at risk. A whistleblower, likely the same person Elon called a saboteur a month or so ago, alleges that Tesla placed battery cells dangerously close together and knew of the issue, and is also overstating their production numbers for the Model 3 by as much as 44%.
If true, that Model 3 overstatement is pretty damning. Investors will flip.

Goodbye credibility.Tripp, who worked as a process engineering technician for Tesla was sued by the company last month for allegedly hacking its manufacturing operating system and stealing internal data. Tripp said he was fired in June.
There's external trackers like the Bloomberg tracker using customer VINs to estimate production, it would be very hard for Tesla to overestimate production by that much without getting caught.

He could just be trying to cover his ass cause he was trying to sell company secrets or sabotage, like Elon accuses. Either way I'm sure the truth will come out.

Yeah it goes back to his earlier statement that AWD upgrade would be less than $5k. Placed my order before the LTE deadline so my delivery window (which used to be June - Aug) is now Sept - Nov since I ordered non P AWD. Also Tesla confirmed they hit their 200k US delivery this month so now the $7500 Federal Tax phaseout will begin Q1 2019 where the amount is roughly halved every two quarters. So basically you get the full 7500 on next years tax returns up into the end of this year. Deliveries in Q1/2 will be $3750.
Really wish I had a good reason to upgrade from my LEAF (or just wish my old beater had held on another couple years)

Funny thing happened a few days ago. Linette Lopez is a reporter for Business Insider and she writes a lot of anti-tesla hit pieces along with allegedly being pretty close with a known $TSLA short. She is also the one who was most likely in contact with the disgruntled worker who Tesla is suing for stealing software and also making claims about the scrap. For whatever reason she thought it was a good idea to take to twitter and link to a thread on teslamotorsclub about people having some issues with their model 3 and asks basically for anyone to PM her any issues they have with the car. The resulting responses are hilarious:

I guess he wants unqualified people doing work with inspections from qualified people? Idk lol

I didn't exactly hire a plumber to put my new kitchen sink in. I don't know how complicated it is to install a water filtration system to a main water line but I could imagine it being relatively easy for a competent handyman type.
I thought the solution for flint HAD to include replacing all water pipes in the majority of buildings, maybe even a majority of the main water pipes too.
I guess you could install a filter at the base of every building, but while that's a great short term solution, that doesn't seem like a worthwhile long term solution.

Most of the buildings are testing within EPA-accepted range now (after nearly 2 years of remediations). While it took a while for pipes damaged by corrosion to stop leaching lead into the water, it's been almost 2 years since they switched back to non-corroded water and most pipes are sufficiently flushed out by now. There are some edge cases where that's not the case but filtration will provide at least medium-term relief and allow them to drink from the taps again.
