Good, he needs to pay some fines for his inability to stop tweeting like a dumbass.
Agreed. A fine for this is pretty minor too, take it and run.
It really is lmao
cmon guys don't tell me you wouldn't have liked to make some joke tweets like that with that kind of impact and reach
God dammit Elon.

You say that, but watch him wiggle his way out of it.

It's not super surprising that he didn't want to take a deal that would have barred him from being chairman of Tesla for two years.

Oh that was a stipulation? Fuck that. Bring it on bitches, here comes some reasonable doubt!

I'd like to believe he's "staying true to himself" but the reality is that he won't let anyone take his company. He's Zuckerberg'ing a bit hard for me here.
At this point he should have just gone private lol

Elon settling with the SEC for $20 million and resigning as board chairman
Shamelessy stolen from reddit:
$20m personal fine
Does not admit guilt
Retains CEO
Resign within 45 days from position as chairman of the board
Barred from chairman of board for 3 years
Hire 2 new independent members of board
Required to abide by communication rules set by board
best case scenario really (besides for Musk's bank account). CEO Elon's worst impulses should be constrained going forward by a more independent board of directors, and Tesla itself may well benefit from not being seen so solely as the enterprise of a single man. brilliant entrepreneur and a capable manager but his inability to control his erratic behavior in public spheres has cost Tesla enough.
Yeah that seems fine, he's still CEO.

Most expensive $420 joke ever.
It'll cost him 0.2% of his Tesla shares lol.
