Is/n't Tesla literally/figuratively crashing?

I mean it is ugly but honestly I don't care much. I like the fact that it seats 6 with the three seats across the front. I like the fact that it has tons of storage and long miles range. The biggest issue I have is the non flat bed rails. Honda tried this and it sucked and they changed it. There are lots of situations where you need stuff to rest on the bed rails and the bed rails need to be flat to be practical as a truck. Also the price isn't bad for the base model but it gets pretty high quickly if you go to the AWD versions which is too bad.

I don't know if the bed rails are a deal breaker though. It might be as I wouldn't be able to haul much hay in that. I wonder if they will ever design a real truck to be used like a truck instead of a "look how tough I am as I drive my truck around town and occasionally put a sack of gardening soil in the back" truck.

The bed rails are definitely a deal breaker for this being a real work truck. This is instantly put into "lifestyle" truck because of that. No roof/ladder rack no easy way to tie stuff down. No behind the cab toolbox etc.

It is a real shame that they made that design choice.

It's a real bummer too. I had hoped they would release an F-150 equivalent where it was designed to be an actual light duty work truck. The rest of it looks fine and I wouldn't mind having one if it didn't have the stupid sloped bed rails. In fact I have been contemplating selling my current truck and getting one with 6 seats now that we have 3 kids. This would fit the whole family plus one other when we went places.

Plus my work has a tesla charger that I am allowed to use when I am at work.

The other thing that I didn't think about is the fact that usually the bed is separate from the cab on a truck. I wonder how having the bed and cab fused into one piece will effect its handling and feel.

I wouldn't worry about handling, the low CoG and instant torque will still make it feel incredible compared to any other pickup.

I'd make a comment but it's so fucking ugly I can't even find a joke. I just don't understand what they're thinking. The renders I saw a couple days ago looked nothing like this, well, this vehicular travesty.

Specs look great (if they can hit those specs in any sort of mfg qty). Too bad I can say with confidence I'll never even consider buying it.
