The front crumple zone is interesting, cause in tesla sedans they're just an extra storage space that also breaks away real easy in a front swipe. You miss that here, but in exchange I'm sure you either get a larger bed or more interior space. I dont think that's a poor trade off, since ICE will push you face in if you hit a wall hard enough, and a door hit is a door hit no matter how many crumple zones you got.

The exterior is an exoskeleton. It's not on a frame like every other car on the market. What a about if the exterior does get damaged? Is the vehicle going to be totaled?

If they are dumb enough to design a vehicle that can't pass impact safety tests Tesla deserves what they get. Luckily, or sadly for the shorts, I don't think they are dumb enough for this to be a serious concern. I wouldn't worry that this is some sort of death trap just because it's a special kind of fugly.

Ya. Idk what the point of that demo is really. Doesn't matter of it's a 2x or 4x, electric has so much more torque a model 3 could do the same damn thing if the body could handle the stress.

This whole thing is such a fucking joke. I can't think of a single practical application where the same money spent on a standard truck wouldn't work better.

I wanna see what kind of range it will have with a substantial load.

Toyota and Subaru teamed up to move their deadline up to 2030 iirc to go 100% electric as well. So I guess someone has to stumble through the early stages.

What's the plan for release time wise again? Like, how long is it realistically going to take to produce that many?

Ford VP challenged Musk to a more fair challenge instead of the overwhelmingly one sided pull they posted.

Musk accepted.

Also, just discovered Ford does have a fully electric F-150 already in development.

It looks like a normal truck for starters. It also pulled over one million pounds already in a test.
