Seems like a good idea on paper, but yeah, hardly seems worth it in practice.

Remember when there was a scandal because Musk said the Saudis were going to take Tesla private at $420/share and he was doing a stock manipulation

Limited edition Yeezy x Musk, the sneakerheads are flexing.
Elon is about to hit his next tranche, worth like 1.2B
Closed at $1544. Earnings report isn't until the 22nd so it's going to be interesting to see how much the stock fluctuates between now and then. Analysts are predicting at least $2k and there some who think that they may do a stock split in the future.
Musk said he's not going to produce a standard range Model Y (which would've been priced under 40k) claiming a sub-250 mile range is unacceptable.
Which sucks.
I mean, I'd be fine with sub 250 range Elon.
They discontinued the SR on the Model 3 which was 220 miles of range. Now they only sell the SR+ which is 250 and that seems to be the minimum the company wants to go with in terms of range. The SR Model Y was supposed to be 230 which wasn't bad considering the $39,000 price tag. Now you have to pay 10k more for 85 more miles of range and Dual Motor. I fully expect Tesla to drop the SR+ in the near future so that there are only two trims available across all 4 models (Dual Motor and Performance). That means that the minimum range for all Tesla's would be 305 miles of range (Performance Model X) and the max would be 400 (Model S). This also keeps badging consistent as well as you are either Dual Motor or Dual Motor since they moved away from capacity badging.
