Publicly-accessible EV charging infrastructure is pretty built out here in LA County but it'll need to be WAAAAAY more built out for EVs to be feasible for most renters.

How long does it take to charge an electric car? I'm reading 75 to 90 min. So these people without at-home charging options are just gonna waste 75 minutes of their day while their car charges?

If you live in a home without a garage and must park on a street, you're likely living in a metro area (and hopefully one with good mass-transit access). If you own a car it's likely you are using it to commute to work. In Chicago almost every single parking garage in the central business district has dedicated charging stations for EVs. Drive to work, charge up, go home, never lose a minute of your day.

But I am still on the fence about proliferation of EV cars since it will continue to deter funding towards mass transit - a real job creator and positive cash investment.

Nobody wants to add 20 minutes to their commute by using mass transit.

You're not usually charging from empty to full, you pick up some charge shopping or in your parking lot at work or whatever. Ideally the only time you are "waiting" is for long-distance travel charging.

Future is electric but stock is priced as if all electric cars to be sold will be Tesla. Not to mention Apple is also seriously considering to partner with Hyundai for more affordable electric cars.

I feel Tesla stock is priced from a very optimistic investor perspective.

It's priced like they're the only real EV maker in the game, and they are. Currently no other 100% EV from the states performs at the level Tesla's do. I see new models coming out from American makers, but they're being showed off and the prototypes aren't even all made when they do so.

This ain't easy and Tesla has years of a head start lol

Toyota and Subaru didn't promise anything, it's a goal they're trying to achieve. Originally they were looking at several years later independently, but decided to team up to expedite the process a few years ago.

Yeah, if you care about performance Teslas are generally the way to go. But you can go pickup a 259 mile range new Chevy Bolt for literally half the price of a new base model 3, so that's an advantage of other automakers right now and will probably continue to be for quite a while.

Funny you mention that, cause I just read news that they're lowering or working on lowering the model Y version and also focusing a lot more production on it. I'd love a suv EV, but I'm priced out of em so this is all welcome news.

There's a new lower priced Model Y with like 237 mile range that dropped yesterday but it's still like 43k.

It also allows you to order the 3rd row option but there's still no pictures of what it looks like, has to be absolutely tiny.

But is it worth paying ~17k more for than a Pacifica plug-in hybrid?
