"Subaru won’t bring Forester e-Boxer to the US
Here is what Subaru means when they say they set a target to "sell only electric vehicles" worldwide by the first half of the 2030s. The Japanese automaker’s lineup in the U.S. consisting of Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, Ascent, Impreza, Legacy, WRX, WRX STI, and BRZ will have some form of electrification. It will likely be hybrid and plug-in hybrid technology coming from its partnership with Toyota. Subaru is calling them “strong hybrids.”

Got to peep one when I was still with Subaru. Wife and I were going to get a Tesla next, but we're leaning heavily towards the Solterra.

Should be a fantastic vehicle for large families or fams with stupid big animals (us).

My biggest reservation is that it's Subaru's first EV. I really rather wait a year or two after release so they can work out the kinks, but we'll probably need to upgrade before then.

They start at $40k if I'm not mistaken.

Honestly waiting to work out kinks would be best. Subaru doesn't have the best track record with firmware.

Yaaaaa, but at the same time I have the advantage of having back up vehicles, and my own shop with a couple of Master Technicians with EV experience and diagnostic tools in my back pocket. I'm an ideal guinea pig. If it wasn't for that I'd go Tesla no question.

And as much as I want an EV I need the cabin space for 2 car seats comfortably. I have an outback which is arguably the largest sedan and I still want more, 99% of crossovers are too small too. In fact even small SUVs like the cx-9 still felt too small in the rear (middle) row.
We have 3 carseats in our VW Golf Sportwagen, and it is indeed tight.

But I don't get how any sedan really would be "too tight" with just two, unless you need the rear middle seat operational as well?

Facing forward isn't too bad, but rear facing seats require the passenger seat to be too far forward. It's just a safety/comfort issue. You should be a as far away from the airbag as possible and having a car seat behind you in rear facing really lessens the distance of the passenger from it.

It also sucks getting kids in them until they can do more themselves, less so with SUVs or pickups.

Apparently there is a crazy lease deal on the Kona right now.

I'm not due until May for my lease which is great because new incentives will kick in, new models will be out, and I can see what I get offered for carvana or some other buyout.

Have you ever been in the backseat of a civic or accord?

    Ah ok.

But just remember they aren't rear facing for that long (unless you are going for 3)

Wow fuck lol. We were gonna go honda several years ago. Got in a civic and noped the fuck out (we're both above average height and my wife was preggers). Got into an accord and it was literally the same interior space.

Ended up getting a Camry and it's been absolutely amazing. Tons of room in those fuckers.

Yeah I was gonna say I can fit my bass rig (2x12s), a guitar amp, and an entire PA system minus the sub (2 15 mains and 3 12 monitors) in my accords backseat and trunk, with room for intstruments, its crazy how much room accords have.

It's a silly way to try to say they have a lot of room though. You can fit that plus a shit ton more in a camry
