Per your statements, they will. "They won't have a choice". And you continue to completely ignore my questions. What is a fair wage.
And for what it's worth, I'd be money that you can find people to do shit like sweep floors for $.30 when they have no food and no other options, so long as that $.30 buys them a burger or something.
Please quote the post i said that in. Because ctrl+f shows this to be the only instance of that in the entire thread.
Whatever the market decides. What is a fair wage.
There are always other options, such as stealing. Not that it matters, since there will never be jobs available that pay $.3/hr.I'd be money that you can find people to do shit like sweep floors for $.30 when they have no food and no other options
I slightly misquoted, but I'm sure you'd agree the intent is the same.
And if the market says that $.30 is a good wage, then what? Fuck those people, they deserve it and should have "worked harder"?
And there already are jobs that pay that; they're in china. If we remove the minimum wage laws, you think asshole corps won't try the same thing here? You're delusional.
Fuck you, i already explained this shit. http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/112...=1#post5358372
In addition to this only applying right now, in this shit economy, by "incredibly low wages", i meant $7.25/hr.
It doesn't say that.
China isn't america. Cost of living is much lower in china, and our societies are much different. And there already are jobs that pay that; they're in china.
There are no laws preventing asshole corps from charging a million dollars for pencils. And yet it doesn't happen. I wonder why that is.If we remove the minimum wage laws, you think asshole corps won't try the same thing here? You're delusional.
hint: it's exactly the same reason why wages would never fall to $.3/hr.
Repeating logical inconsistencies doesn't magically make them true.
You said you disagree with minimum wages, period. Not with simply not raising them. With ALL minimum wage laws.
If you remove the current minimum wage laws across the board, I can guarantee you that wages will drop dramatically. And waiters already only make a couple bucks an hour... not a far cry from my hypothetical $.30.
China isn't america... yet. If we race to the bottom on wages, and if their economy keeps increasing, it's not inconceivable that they catch us.
Pencils != humans. How fucking hard is it to understand this?
Correct.
Well first of all, it would only affect wages of people who are currently being paid more than their fair market value, which i don't have a problem with. And waiters don't only make a couple bucks an hour. They make a couple bucks an hour from their employer, and lots more from tips.If you remove the current minimum wage laws across the board, I can guarantee you that wages will drop dramatically. And waiters already only make a couple bucks an hour... not a far cry from my hypothetical $.30.
The economics are exactly the same. Hiring someone to do a job is no different than paying for any other service, such as having a mechanic fix your car. Would it make you happy if i used that as an analogy, instead?Pencils != humans. How fucking hard is it to understand this?
Good to see that Hey and test123 continue to be the worst.
And also lol@ the moron who lol'd at an extra 80 bones per week for low income workers. That's a car payment
Tips are not reliable. Some servers make bank. Others work in dives and have deadbeat patrons. Hence the newly proposed minimum wage law for servers. I can tell you that my wife made an average of $4/hr while in college working a few months at a restaurant.
The economics are *not* exactly the same, unless you mean only in a really overgeneralized supply and demand macroeconomics way.
How many businesses have gone out of business because minimum wage went up? I mean, if it's so bad for them, there should be a wave of closures every time the rate goes up, right Hey?
was going to type something long but cat walked all over the keyboard. So fuck it, just gonna say, americans won't work for $.3/hour, they'll work for $1/ hour. THAT'S SO MUCH BETTER THAN CHINA, PEOPLE!
most small businesses are operating with their heels to a cliff (or at a loss waiting for the economy to turn), so yes, there's a wave of closures or firings every time any regulation increases costs unless it occurs during an especially strong economy
if someone is willing to work for $1/hour, who are you to tell them they can't? if you want to be dictator, grab an army and head to africa.Originally Posted by Ksandra

Guys lets get rid of all laws, if people want to shoot other people in the face who are you to tell them they can't? I mean, really? You think making sure people aren't getting paid so low they have 20 people in a one bedroom home and eating ramen everyday so they can afford to live is being a dictator? Has to be a troll, no one is this stupid. No one.
i would advocate this road warrior society that some people are proposing
mainly because the wops and similar derps would be bending the knee just to get a scrap.
I really wish the discussion would move away from minimum wage and towards a more direct solution like a living or universal wage. Minimum wage might help solve the pauperism some workers live in but it doesn't help solve the issue of chronic unemployment whoch universal wage helps with, but at the same time a universal wage also helps with worker pauperism by giving workers an alternative to a shit wage (or a supplement, if you want to see it that way).
And this guy probably votes. How depressing.
There is a difference between a human and an expendable item (ie, a pencil, or a hamburger). If the US is going to go invade countries in the name of human rights, is not a minimum wage a human right? O hi there, I think I'll pay you $1/hr to eat my shit, AND YOU'LL LIKE IT OR YOU CAN MOVE TO AFRICA.
