He very well may have laid down and not pulled out his weapon. Some people go on rampages and still surrender peacefully to the cops.

its NYC you dont wait, I hate to say it. The cops in NYC have to deal with so much shit. I live on the Island our cops get paid 2x what they do and are a hell of a lot safer.

You're supposed to have your gun drawn so that he has less incentive to grab his (he's already beaten) and so that if he reaches for his weapon you can take him down before he can point it at you.

nah those guys look like game wardens. Game wardens are boss. They can even search your car without a warrant, pretty sure i heard that somewhere.

They teach you in any shooting class that you need to look beyond your target and know that the bullet might not fucking stop in what you shoot at and continue on. So yeah ricochets and over-penetrating rounds are still their fault.

Meant responding to a person shot call, or a person with a gun call with your weapon fully holstered is a good way for a officer to get shot.

The prelim showed the cops shot 16 times and scored 11 hits and two head shots. Two bullets hit citizens and four were hit with fragments. Considering the national average for gun qualifications requires you to score 300 out of 500 hits during shooting, which is around 60% accuracy, I'd say 11 out of 16 is pretty decent. Yeah you gotta look for your backstop but the main focus would be eliminating the threat.

oh no sorry i thought he meant 11 hits (2 in the gunman, 9 civilians hit) out of 16 shots, including bystanders. LOL that dude got shot ELEVEN TIMES? ok maybe they DID pop the trunk on him. shocked there was any of him left. i have photos from liveleak that are pretty graphic but they dont show him shot that many times. lemme find em.
