I suspect initial spikes, no doubt. Beta prices weren't too unreasonable in the one I played, but I think people may have been less cut-throat then because it was beta, too. Think coppers were going for like 30-40b, iron 60-80b, and mod mats anywhere between 30b-1s. I can deal with that, even if it meant salvaging armor types of lesser likely mod choices. But I'd also expect flooding on, say, Mighty-type armors since you'll get a lot of warriors who want to herpderp DD.

Weak blood sucks. I never have enough of it. D:

Prices will certainly spike, especially for bags and some crafting stuff. But they will normalize like all MMOs.

Maybe it's just me, but I swear they have a measure in to curb drops if you kill the same mobs for too long, too.

The best source I've seen of those special crafting bits has to be the dynamic events with waves of mobs. Especially the ones with humanoids attacking. You'll often get some kind of sack that almost always has a random sort of crafting mat. Just aoe everything to tag all the incoming stuff, and collect your loot. My biggest complaint is some crafting base materials are way more prevalent than others. Like metal and wood you get from gathering and salvaging stuff. But cloth and leather you only get from salvaging.

So what is the deal with the dungeons? So far not having a "holy trinity" has been a huge downside. Sure we got a group fast but we were dying very easily. Kinda zombied bosses and made it through story mode... but exploration mode was hard as shit (AC that is). We were at a point where we needed to protect an NPC and kill burrows... which summoned breeders... which summoned more shit. Crap was just everywhere and we couldn't burst stuff down fast enough. We'd either die to all the mobs or take too long and they would kill the npc so we'd have to restart. Dunno if we were just undergeared or just doing it wrong (we were all like level 40) and I have like 4-5 gold (yellow) items myself.

Because everyone is probably glass cannon spec and can't actually take any hits. Just because there's no tank and healer dedication doesn't mean everyone can go full dps and win.

Definitely needs coordination and planning on who uses whats skills and when. Voice chat will be pretty helpful, stacking of skills with proper timing like vulnerability or rotating blinds or binds, and buffs like regens etc. Use those elites too, I know FF11 trained us to keep them for a rainy day, but sometimes thats all you need to do. Its hard as the game plays at such a faster pace that other mmos, communication needs to be happening always.

After running AC the first time it totally made me rethink how to build my Guardian, going foward. A balanced versatile class is the best way to go in PVE. You can go different routes in accomplishing that, either balanced in traits, or max out in traits one way and balance out using gear. keep in mind that if you max out one way using traits like in Power your cap with gear will be higher than those that didnt, but on the other hand you will not be able to swap to say a defensive build as much as someone who traited mid line using gear.

Ok going silent again. back to gw2

What Eanae said. Groups really have to focus on hp/toughness/condition removal and less on pure dps. Guardians, elementalists, and rangers make dungeons much easier.

    State of the game: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/c...day_august_30/

    My favorite bit:

Exploits - If you discover an exploit in the game, do not exploit it or publicize it, but instead notify us immediately at this new email address: exploits (at) arena (dot) net.
This morning there was a widely-publicized, newly-introduced exploit in which specific cultural weapons were selling for one-thousandth of their normal price. We fixed it with an emergency build this morning. We want to thank the vast majority of players who became aware of the issue, responsibly reported it, and did not exploit it. However, a smaller group of players did significantly exploit it, each purchasing hundreds or thousands of these weapons. We permanently banned 3,000 accounts of players who substantially exploited it, and applied 72-hours bans to another 1,000 accounts of players who mildly exploited it.

Haven't tried PvP or WvW yet, haven't even joined a party lol. My one complaint about the game is how slow characters run, fortunately thief has a 25% boost to movement speed signet which helps quite a bit.
I just tried it for the first time yesterday, and WvW is fun as hell. Weapon swapping is awesome on Warrior... I was just switching to rifle and shooting at groups until I got bored, and then swapping to greatsword and just zerging the shit out of people when they get separated from the herd. It's fucking fun! The QQ'ing in chat is amusing as well... the self-proclaimed "leaders" are all trying to tell people what to do, and freaking out at the total lack of cooperation they're getting.

It's like... the game has been out a few days. Our AH doesn't even work yet. People don't even know how to play yet. Just chill the fuck out lol.... and they're shouting "TREBUCHET TREBUCHET TREBUCHET" or "WALL BREACH GET TO THE WALL BREACH EVERYONE" like every two seconds, and I"m like a few feet away from them, farming fucking potatoes.

That shit always happens in every pvp game for an MMO. Some guy starts barking orders, nobody listens, fag gets mad.

haha, I know! It's great. I just love how accessible WvW is. You could literally go stand in a corner somewhere and farm potatoes, and nobody's going to even notice you. Another lovely thing as well, is it's just amazing that it only took a couple of days for the trolls to come out, too. Everybody was full of wonder and excitement at the new game for about 48 hours, and then all of a sudden it's "you fucking suck faggot go play WoW" and "TREBUCHET TREBUCHET BUILD THAT FUCKING TREBUCHET YOU COCKSUCKERS WE'RE LOSING CAUSE NONE OF YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY"

On the other hand, I'll say WvW wasn't fun because constantly getting rolled (and having to pay repair fees) and watching everyone else do their own random shit didn't help. Doesn't help Rall is fuck awful in rankings, either. Seriously only had our starting base when I went in earlier.

Yeah, I'm on Rall too. We're pretty fucking terrible at WvW, but I've only done it once so I expected to suck at it personally tbh. Hence the potato farming. That one guy screaming is pretty much spot on with his assessment of our skill! You know what's odd to me, is I really thought the Gaisoch Guild would have us owning shit. They have like 3400 people in it, for fuck's sake.
