They're the big events in Orr. Each Orrian zone as 1-2 Shrines in it. They range from being ridiculously easy to being incredibly difficult events to clear.

lol
BG's guild on Ehmry Bay's been pretty good. If anyone wants to play with anyone.. it's just 'Hey, what're you doing? Oh, can I join? Cool." and bam. Like I'm playing with a couple guys now doing Dynamic Events and shit in the last zone at 80. It's not that bad.
There's cases where I play solo, come across a couple people clearing a zone, ask "Hey, mind if I tag along" and bam. A party. Whaddya know.
As for this being a bigger let down than XIV... I bought the XIV collector's edition, then played the beta, realized what shit it was, and haven't opened the CE of XIV since. This game, while it has a TON of bugs, a just-now working Trading Post, and all that.. is still early in it's life cycle and can still be salvaged. Release, in the long run, was clunkier than people originally thought.. but compared to XIV? XIV set SE back a large share, Lol. GW2.. I dunno. There's still hope.
I'm sorry you don't like the game anymore, and have had bad experiences.
As for the buggy missions, I completely agree. That shit's retarded. The "Join" command doesn't seem broken. I've never had an issue 'joining' someone's overflow. It's just usually if they're on the main server and you aren't that it doesn't work. The whole 'dungeon' thing is shitty too. You have to really all be in the same server and basically enter at the same time for it to consistently work, which is annoying, but whatever.
Not since headstart, no, I've never been put in a diff instance. And I've full cleared all explorable paths in the dungeons you mentioned. Teleporting Necro and frost flamethrower were infinitely more difficult than trash packs in CM, and hardly tank and spank. Both end bosses. And the mere fact that "zombie rushing" bosses is your strategy in the same sentence as talking about how easy they are? Give me a break.
If you're having difficultly with trash, its likely due to your group sucking. Or maybe you didn't figure out trash mechanics, one such example in CM being the traps on hardwood floors. Where you have to stick to rugs, and throw pillows on the floor to make jump bridges. Aka: "the floor is lava" game everyone played when they were 8.
I can see why you would think trash is difficult when repeatedly running through lava.
Just coming up to 50 now (taking it slow) and it's so far been far and away the best MMO experience I've had since probably ToAU's launch in FFXI (probably just nostalgic). My only particular gripes are with a lack of unranked party pvp and instance balancing but that's not for this thread.
This is also the first MMO where I've been so involved in my first character that after 55 hours the rest of my character slots are still blank. I love the little guy and just as I was considering making a new character I dinged lv46, completed the mansion dungeon and got a sassy new hat which I have given a bright pink feather to. My interest is renewed.
moved all that bitching [and related discussion] to the random complaint thread where it belonged.
Guild Wars 2 dominates European sales
http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/09...uropean-sales/
Guild Wars 2 is on a goodwill tour through Europe, and it appears that the crowds love ArenaNet's latest release. The fantasy title has topped the charts in not one, not two, but 10 countries in the region.
NCsoft reports that Guild Wars 2 is at the number one sales spot for UK, Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, and Belgium. And as the saying goes, when you win over Finland, you've won over the world.
ArenaNet President Mike O'Brien is bowled over by the accomplishment: "Our games have always been well-received in Europe, but this level of enthusiasm is both awesome and humbling. It also impresses upon us the responsibility we have to our players and explains why we've taken steps recently to constrain sales of Guild Wars 2 to ensure the highest quality of service. Of course, we hope to remedy this in the near future."
Even with ArenaNet temporarily halting sales from its website, Guild Wars 2 is selling strong elsewhere. Amazon currently has it at both the #1 and #2 position on its top video game sales chart.
Hit 80 yesterday. Now to farm for decent gear (although I've thrown together at least 20+% MF right off the bat) and finish some tradeskills.
I didn't really care for the music until I got to the tail end of the story missions, specifically:
Spoiler: show
Also, I managed to bug the final story fight twice. I think it has something to do with pets. Will put him in infinite Determined status and lock him in combat with Trem.
Little question before I blow up all the money I have on crafting, Is it smart to craft an entire set of the same kind of armor, IE: I'm a warrior using GS, should I craft the entire berserker's set, or is it better to craft a piece form here and there?
Discoveries.
I think it all depends on the weapon you prefer.. some weapons allow for a lot of conditions, others rely more on crit/power. I think crit (precision) is good on all armor... do conditions crit? Conditions are really what makes a difference though, so even if your weapon is a "power" weapon I think it's still important to have some condition bonuses since everything applies some sort of a condition even if its only vulnerability
On Theif i have been focusing on Power/Pers/Crit Dmg mostly. I do plan on also making a magic find set with my Superior "of the pirate" rune set. The high magic find does seem to help a ton with crafting mats like the blood vials. Also, the bird pet that spawns sometimes with it rocks.
Made this to compare karma gear stats. I haven't added the runes yet.

Vaguely angry and confused. I had some whisperer weapons sitting around for the models, and when I loaded up the game today, they were generic-modelled mighty weapons, and don't exist on the trading post anymore. What?
