I pug 30+40 as often as I can for the dailies and honestly haven't noticed any difference. Probably around 80/20 if it'll get through, though some of that may be attributed to the luck of not getting Shaman on the third shot (which is probably 50/50 in pugs at 40).
The extra 5 from amulet should help with Jade Maw so it requires a less strict healing rotation to keep people alive, but I think you'll still be downed without water fields/etc.
Concurrency has actually been rising since the halloween events: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/foru...easing/1357788. I believe the peak was at around 500,000 and they broke 3 million box sales, so I'm not exactly sure how you want to measure "success".. but this is it.
5 AR will make late 30s early 40s tolerable, but the general consensus is that those levels aren't really worth farming. A lv40 can take two hours if you hit dredge and don't have competent members. I just have an issue with guild buddies being able to sneak their low level friends in and annihilate the chances of a smooth run.
Edit: I don't mean to make out that it's commonplace, but I've had it happen twice now and endured horror beyond imagination as a result. BEYOND IMAGINATION. Though I probably should have just disbanded sooner.
Personally I just want the fractal skins seeing as I already have my legendary. They're probably rarer tbh, just based on my own eye.
I just do it for the fun and challenge at this point, also to test ideas out in real circumstances. Also money. I've gotten all the skins and rings I want, though.
Also on a unrelated note, what do people think about making a personal guild for the bank? I was thinking about it driving earlier, and I think it would cost about 100g to get the necessary influence for a 250 slot bank. I didn't look at how much it would cost in gold > gems to get the same amount of storage from bank/bag slot capacity increases. There's also the idea of making a guild and pimping members out for influence then kicking them all to create drama.
I like the second idea
It only costs 34g to make 150 slots, cheaper than buying gems.
I might settle for that then. 30k influence for the last few upgrades seems wasteful for the immediate future.
Cel, what legendary did you get man? Grats!
Everyone who got a legendary: Which precursor route did you take, rare or exotic? With the current prices of ectos and T6 mats, rare looks a lot more appealing. Then I read about 2000+ tries...
Correct answer is run dungeons for money, use tokens for 4x exotic weapon to throw in forge (most of the weapons/runes I've gotten from this have sold for 3+ gold) , salvage rares you get as drops for ectos, sell ectos, craft more rares to either forge or sell/salvage with drops you get from dungeons/gathering dailies.
I generally run AC for money since can make about 3-3.5 gold in a little over an hour there, so I can't use the tokens on the cheap yellow armor cause it's too low of a level.
I also run CoF occasionally, it just gets monotonous running path 1 over and over, and the difference in money:time ratio between that with PUGs and AC with my guild is negligible.
Whatever your preference is for making money, don't craft exotics to forge, it's not worth it, you have to get pretty lucky to make a profit.
I've been keeping track of my dungeon token exotics into forge data and will post it when I either get enough money to buy precursor or get lucky.
I heard enough horror stories from guildies and others to not even bother with the forge. I purchased The Lover for 150g shortly after the karka event. At one point it was down to 115g but i was dumb and waited and it started shooting up again. If it were not for that event, i don't think i would have mine yet and I'd be waiting for the scavenger hunt.
Current legendary system is beyond fucking stupid, as I've been constantly saying on official forums.
Saved gold and bought mine after throw 160g into the forge for nothing
Thanks for all the replies. Guess I stick to throwing in crafted rares (sell exotic results) and exotics from tokens. The Lover is sitting at 600g+, no way I can save up that much and the scavenger hunt is still in creative phase, according to ANet.
Account was hacked. Accessed from some wanker from the states. Gonna see if they'll do an account restoration. Should be easy to notice when somebody from a completely different country is accessing your account.
I know that feeling and I'm not even in the 20s yet. Was doing the Shaman run last week and had a jackass Elementalist in my party. Moron DIED to the bats on the way to the Legendary Shaman. Twice.
First time he died shy of the drop point so we had to wipe and try again. Second time he died and went AFK for roughly 5 minutes aftwerward saying he left the game to look at something. At which point we told him to piss off and booted his sorry ass since we suspected he bough the account or was in level 10 gear or something.
I feel so inadequate: I have yet to do a fractal! I've spent so much time doing WvW that I've all but neglected the PVE side.
I need to remedy this.
