I wouldn't. Claiming to promote diversity in activities while favoring one (Be it reward quality or jilted rate of acquisition) pretty much kills the point of diversity.

They've already done that since, theoretically, once people get all the different guild mission types unlocked, they can get ascended earrings way faster than from Laurels. Unless they really were stupid enough to not give commendations to any other guild mission type (we already know that guild trek doesn't give any) or make it so you can only get 2 commendations per week period.
Should be able to go to the vendor in WvW right now and spend 390 badges on an Ascended Amulet, 210 badges on Rings, and 180 badges on Accessories. I should be able to go do this right now.
Really? "I guess you forgot the part" lol.
Then I guess you forgot the part where the entire point of the GW2 next gen mmo developers intent/promise was that as a PVE player I would never have to leave PVE, as a WvW player I would never have to leave WvW, etc, play the game your way like a huge carebear who thinks fractals are hard if you want etc. If that's the way you want to waste your time, then great! Get all your ascended shit from shit tier PVE stuff or get all your ascended shit from WvW - except the only thing you can get from WvW is PTV Exotics and only the Armor.
Well, I wasn't quoting you. As a strict WvW player I too await the day where they stretch it across all areas so I can give alts some lovin'. 200 badges is an average nights haul, and I'm running out of space. I'm just not so fucking nazi about it as you guys seem to be, which I assume is due to the fact that I actually enjoy playing.
I like playing too, but I don't really enjoy much of what PVE has to offer and to that effect the Ascended gear is just too meaningful to pass up. I have to go do it so that my character is better - this will be even more overstated when I can run PVT Ascended armor with a Zerker body and maintain all stats similar to what they currently are in my exotic except +4~5crit rate and +7~9crit damage.
You know, in 2014 and if I even do PVE.
They keep making this MMO less next-gen and more old gen, required to do things you don't want to do for marginal stat upgrades or you'll be behind in PVP/PVE and be unable to compete. They're losing money, so they want to bring back old-gen working MMO formula's to attempt to make that money back - but I don't see how playing more often will make me spend more money on gems for useless items I give 0 fucks about. It just makes me NOT WANT TO PLAY AT ALL.
This game is slowly being turned into your standard 2006 MMO, really sad because the game was so amazing and all it's missing is actual new content, not new gear, but new fun things to actually do with our char, I don't need to be rewarded gear to go do things, I just need that content to be fun. Wasn't that GW2's original design philosophy? Also, wtf is with this game being a "cosmetic grind" but they haven't added ANY cosmetic items to actually grind for from new content, they just add invisible items with OMG NEW STATS SO FUN!(hi that isn't what gw2 is about moron devs)? They've added literally 0 cosmetic items I can wear in combat outside of spending IRL money on weapon skins, and only crappy town-only shitty costumes to the cash shop. Shouldn't the cash shop be constantly updated with sk ins you can use in combat, weapon skins, and content constantly be updated with new skins to grind for to make our chars look awesome?
Seriously, the fucking entire design intent for this game was "All gear has the same stats, we'll just give you giant grinds for AWESOME looking items so you can look cooler than other players, but not be stronger than them". WHERE DID THIS THINKING GO?
Fractal, Karka commendation, and guild mission skins say hello.
Sounds like you have a problem with the existence of a tier above Exotic. I'll work on that time machine for you so you can go back to November and have this conversation. Or if you want the TLDR: ideally it ends up working exactly the same as exotics did, only explicitly for level 80. They're taking their sweet time rolling out the framework to support that, and that stinks.
I think another big problem with the way gear is progressing is the ease of which you (used to be able to) gear up multiple characters. Requiring a months worth of laurels for one item sucks, but I can tolerate that if I only had the intention of playing a single character. But when you're talking about gearing up 3 or more characters things start to get ridiculous. When my Mesmer and Thief hit 80 I instantly had all the gear I wanted available for them, now I can't hope to accomplish the same thing and it feels like I have to pick one character to focus on. Same shit happened with Fractals too (though seems they kinda fixed how progression works), if I ever wanted to take another character I had to grind my way back up the difficulties. Its contradictory to their original design philosophy and puts off a lot of people who fell in love with the game for such reasons.
Dailies shouldn't be account based, but character based. Would be a good step in alleviating that issue
Doing 5 dailies everyday for 3 months sounds less fun than playing FF14 1.0. Dailies should not exist, let me buy my gear and instantly gear any character I want fully on dinging 80 like I could at release. They need to stop adding infinite grinding content for stat upgrades and focus on things that make GW2 different from other MMO's, instead of trying to be every other MMO.
Anet has just gone backwards from the MMO they released to a world of gated progression where your Ascended gear are only marginally better than the "so easy, any moron can acquire" exotics. Further, this game doesn't support large scale raids, doesn't have any traditional trinity, any sense of needing a guild other than leeching missions for rewards and doesn't have the "let us cling together" mindset that banded players together in games like XI or WoW.
And I expected that. Because this was a casual MMO. A theme park of skins, excitement, PvP, PvE and plug 'n play party building that has now descended into a game that doesn't know what it wants to be and the game suffers for it. A pity because this game is pretty awesome and has so much room for growth and selling quaggans collectables for obscene prices.
Dungeons went from unlimited repeats without DR to what we have now: A desperate attempt to make the dungeons more difficult to prevent the previous situation where anyone could simply run easy dungeons and cap on everything. I get they didn't want people capping out gear so fast but how about sweetening the pot rather than the lazy route of just making it artificially more difficult to get what you want?
Add some rare skins, put some high point items that require tons of repeats to get, have a legendary made from getting TONS of points in all Explorables. Cmon. Make certain paths drop certain things. Shit like SE doesn't get run for good reasons.
Further, class balance is a joke.
It's been months. Where are the fixes? No one gives a shit about underwater combat outside those boring as fuck HoTW bosses or the easy as piss Aquatic fractal. Where are the "tons of builds" to try? I feel like I got Diablo 3'd here.
Speaking of Fractals: They're fucking awesome. Do more of them. The AR gearcheck is bullshit and completely unnecessary but whatever, I can look past that. The concepts was unique, the randomness of the events make it fun, the rare skins are something to chase and the Pristine Fractal Relic system could stand to use more rewards.
WvW? I know they're planning on making it worth more than just bragging rights but that's the main thing keeping most people out of it. The event just comes off as worthless unless you're in a WvW guild which already sets you in the hardcore category. For a casual MMO, you'd think that an event like this would shit out some rewards for kicking the enemies ass but nope, you wind up in a game of zerg vs. zerg with alot of the map going unused.
The latest PVE patch to improve loot off boss monsters has turned the overworld into a nightmare. OMG ITS THE SHATTERER. Oh nvm hes losing HP so fast, lemme just tag it for points and get my rares to go. Brown bag it please. ETA on the next boss? Time for people to overrun that place too and turn any semblance of challenge into a lag-filled, mindless rush for yellows.
We all know damn well when Anet actually puts some sort of ascended merchant in WvW that none of the rewards are going to be purchasable with current badges. I doubt they're going to allow everyone sitting on thousands of badges to instantly gear up just like they didn't with people sitting on thousands of fractals.
A new currency every single patch needs to stop.
especially since the currency takes of inventory space (FUCKING WHAT THE FUCK who thought this was a good idea? can we get a currency collection tab in the bank for this or something?)
Probably only let you buy PVT ascended stuff too because they're morons.
Oh look guys, its a dungeon run. Better get on my RNG. Oh boy, I can't wait to have fun playing at a casual pace with my PUG chums.

"Sup guys?"

#GW2
Pretty sure diablo3 has added more viable builds than GW2 at this point, which is hilariously bad. My #1 main gripe with the game is the fact they don't do SHIT to classes and basically completely ignore balance. Sure do love playing shatter spec until 2015 on my mesmer. It's been months. Where are the fixes? No one gives a shit about underwater combat outside those boring as fuck HoTW bosses or the easy as piss Aquatic fractal. Where are the "tons of builds" to try? I feel like I got Diablo 3'd here.
They're so afraid of messing up their fluke balance that they don't want to make any decent changes to anything in the game. Some classes need completely redesigned(THF/ranger/elemetnalist) and are horribly designed, yet they won't ever do something like that for those classes.
