fortunately I left campus right after class to get ready for an interview and was able to avoid the gridlock. got the emergency text as I parked at home
Thanks for caring Bregs!
Notice when Texas had a bomb threat nobody came in here to warn anyone. >.> Another point SEC. What now Plow? Where is your emergency Big 12 updates?

Although the Pick Em has always tended to lean towards ESPN or ABC broadcast games, they usually have the games of the week on here, regardless of broadcast affiliation. Sort of an egregious oversight. As much as I normally hate to agree with you, Plow, I got your back on this one.
Completely agree. UConn vs Northwesterneastern Tech College Tech is a bullshit option over KState/OU. I really wanna see that game, and some Kleinsmen action.
gonna have to make a Billsnyder Kleinsdale one myself I think
oh, and you won't be missing the game, it's on broadcast Fox
As to the game... man I'm fucking nervous.
On the one hand you've got a K-State team whose biggest knock is just plain not having the athletes to compete with the big boys, but they just went out and utterly destroyed in every way, including athletically, a program that's only staying remotely relevant at this point due to the quality of athletes they get.
And also just played 2 games that were within a field goal late in the 3rd quarter against terrible competition... both of which ended up blowouts via crazy 4th quarters.
NT went to LSU and lost 41-14. They came to Manhattan, and with 5 minutes left, K-State had backups in with a 35-13 lead and gave up like 3 or 4 3rd down conversions that could easily have allowed the game to turn to 42-13 instead of the 35-21 it ended up. LSU gave up a trash td late, too, though, so the most fair comparison would be to put it at 41-7 compared to 35-13... and considering we played really, really badly for 3 quarters aside from a few plays, I'd take that for sure.
We've got a sure thing NFL starting corner on one side (potentially first rounder even), and across from him is a guy that would have been the 3rd best corner we've had recently after Newman and Jeremetrius Butler were Nigel not here.
But we had them both last year when we got utterly destroyed by OU and gave up 50 in both of the 2 biggest regular season games.
We've got one of the best linebackers in the country, and in the Miami game it looked like our line was going to dominate... and then they shit the bed against North Texas.
Hell, we've got a WR that started as a QB at Oregon, but couldn't make it and didn't want to stay there and be a WR... who transferred to K-State and ended p playing WR anyway, and has been every bit as good, and important, as Jordy was when he was here.
So in theory at this point it really seems like we've got the athletes to compete with the big boys... and then you watch Bama play and it's just like "wait, what?"
I wish I could figure out Laundy more. If OU had a Bradford or even a Jason White or whatever, I'd be expecting us not to be able to hold up, but hoping for the best. With him, though... I think we definitely have a chance to straight up stomp them if he has a bad game. Unfortunately I think if he has another nutty day, we have a chance to just get smashed again, too.
The great thing though, is this:
Collin Klein is not the best running QB on the K-State roster anymore. He's playing now because of his ability to pass.
And that is just scary.
Triple post for great justice.
Also comparing LSU and KState's games against NT, I wouldn't reach for straws like that. Don't' have to convince us that KState's pretty damned good. We can see it :D
I'm just comparing in my own mind trying to figure out how good we are. Other 2 teams we've played haven't played anybody else worth comparing.
I'm probably jinxing the whole program now by making this prediction but I'm going with FSU over Clemson 31-17. Clemson and FSU have a pretty even offense, but Clemson defense giving up 300+ yards to Furman last week makes me think they won't be able to keep up with FSU. And if FSU takes a two score lead I expect Jimbo Fisher to call a super conservative game, as he tends to do in big games with the lead.
P.S. ESPN GameDay is in town, suggestions for signs?!?
Who is going to be this weekend's biggest rutgers fan?
I am going to be this weekend's biggest rutgers fan.
BIGEAST.
i really dont know what to make of the game though, arkansas is either going to come out pissed and curbstomp us, or if rutgers can score early maybe they will give up
i hope john l smith doesnt get fired, every time that guy talks is COMEDY GOLD
I would be very afraid to be at one of his press conferences
