So Georgia Tech sucks at closing games out.
Also lolUCLA.
Wow. Go to hell, GT.
Two weeks ago, the Beavers held Montee Ball to 65 yards, and Wisconsin to 31.
This week they hold nation's leading rusher Jonathan Franklin to 45 yards, and UCLA to 72.
I think I'm buying into the Beaver run defense being real.
2-0 with wins over two ranked teams? Not at all what I was expecting. But damn, it feels good.
...so next Saturday Purdue is kicking off a game 4 hours before sunset and not bringing in lights for it. It's not impossible that the game could go past sunset. I wonder what will happen if it gets dark and the game is still in question. (I'd be pissed if it is still a game that late in it, but you never know)
lol colorado
wtb .gif of that ref getting blown up in the LSU/Aub game
In his defense, I think the later kickoff was from him actually listening to the bitching of fans on the messageboards about noon kickoffs.
I still don't agree with cost being the reasoning of not getting lights for the stadium. If every high school around me can afford to have them, why can't a BCS conference team? Hell, I remember playing softball/soccer/football at the intramural fields at Purdue under the lights. Not only did they have stadium lights on the intramural fields, but they seemed to keep them on until around midnight every night in the spring and fall.
The real reason I think the school makes weak excuses is because the non-sports fans don't want as many people tailgating (getting drunk/doing stupid stuff). The best way to stop that is a noon kickoff.
Even if you don't use the lights on a regular basis, not having permanent lights makes the stadium seem very minor league. It's a Big 10 school; it should have a big league football stadium. I have to imagine every recruit that's considering Purdue that is being recruited by other schools is being told specifically about that fact. "You can't play under the lights at Purdue."
So sloppy, playing like poop
Who is this Auburn team and what did they do with them? I'm baffled atm.
fucking thunderstorm rolling in, better not miss the second half gdi
btw our defense looks really good if you pretend those two 50 yard passes that led to both arkansas scores didnt happen
before the half begins, this is a nice story about john l smith
Arkansas head football coach John L. Smith has $25.7 million in liabilities against only $1.2 million in assets, most of which is tied up in retirement funds, according to bankruptcy documents filed Wednesday in federal court.
Arkansas head coach John L. Smith disclosed to the school before he was hired as interim coach that he would be filing for bankruptcy stemming from bad real estate investments in Kentucky.
The documents detail the grave financial problems facing Smith, who filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Sept. 6.
In the court filing, he listed just $300 in cash on hand and $500 in his checking account.
Smith estimates the only real property he owns as worth $2,000 from a "1/4 interest in deceased parents real estate -- 8 acres in Iona, Idaho worth $8,000.00 (total)."
