I'm really disappointed. They at least should have let him finish out the season before announcing it. From everything I've read he seems like a nice guy and the players said they like him. I don't like how all the blame gets put on the coaches. Some of Tennessee's players are too blame this year. I heard about some stuff that shook my confidence in their ability to work together.. but I won't get into that now.

Their starting QB getting arrested before season started for throwing beer bottles at parked cars from his apartment...I'd say they had issues besides coaching.

Let's not try to think Dooley was a good coach. Good guy? Yea, but that only goes so far. Had a poor record at Latech, not sure why they hired him in the first place.

Yeah, never understood coaches who do mediocre against bad competition getting HC jobs at bigger programs. I think it's called "pulling a Kiffin."

No, i get Dooley isn't a great coach yet, and maybe he never will be. But for a program that built a fair level of respect under Fulmer and took more than a pair of black eyes over Kiffin to not give the next coach a full recruiting class in 4 years is in my opinion pretty disrespectful.

I know Tennessee's record hasn't shown it, and that is the be all end all measuring stick, but they have improved each of the last 3 years and that to me says Dooley is owed more than a severance paycheck and shown the door immediately.

Quarterback Matt Barkley will miss Southern California's regular-season finale against No. 1 Notre Dame on Saturday with a sprained right shoulder. Coach Lane Kiffin announced Sunday that freshman Max Wittek will make his first career start in place of Barkley.
