oops, sorry. plzdelete *edit*
I'm not sure how aware you are about how much money a small business makes but that number actually encompasses a fairly good amount of them. Ones who are just starting out benefit from this GREATLY because in most industries you can expect to not even make a salary as the entrepreneur of a small business. Cutting the taxes for this greatly reduces the financial pressure they'd take and would encourage more small businesses to pop up. If you're a small business who can make over 250k already in this economy then you're doing pretty well and don't need as much help in regards to this specific issue.
Seeing the success of sites like Reddit now really makes me regret wasting my university years playing FFXI instead of building something useful. lol
The youth won him the election in 2008, and he's going for it again. He knows the adults have already decided on who to vote for, so he turns to the true wildcards once again. Its a brilliant strategy, but he's def. going to have to aim for the same age group that he did in 2008 - the college-age kids from 08 are now out of college and struggling in this economy, and many of them are bitter.
Its like... reverse indoctrination, but on a somewhat positive note. Dye the youth in your colors and use them to prop up your vote. It sounds bad, but its certainly better to have youthful ideas supporting Obama than the "if it ain't male and white, it ain't right!" Romney Republican mindset.
God forbid you be a female black lesbian. Jesus Christ, you're lower than scum to them.
I think it was a smart play.
wut
seriously dude
He's talking taxable income with his 250k, first of all. Hell, my small business, employee of 1, will make (after deductions) I dunno, 70k in taxable income this year?
Think about a plumber, or a landscaper, or a ton of other trades. They may have a few employees, they might just be the only employee. But most of them are going to have taxable incomes under 250k.
"Owning a business" isn't some monumental feat - it can be as simple as a thousand dollars and access to LegalZoom.
CNN finally got a small piece about it a bit ago. http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/29/politi...dit/index.html Was glad to see the raid that was being attempted on the reddit page failed for the most part, some of screenshots people were posting of what they asked/said was fucking ridiculous. I'd hate to see how hard some people were having to work to control it.

It was a little bigger than that, and it was obviously a targeted thing. It wasn't an attempt to get Grandma Jones' vote.
All of the major papers covered it and the CSM even did an article on the motivation and reasoning behind it.

Now if he was on 4chan, that would be mega news, LOL.
It's not that the business makes less than 250k, it's that the owners take home is less than 250k. Businesses are obviously taxed differently than individuals. The rallying cry of Republicans is that any tax increase hurts small business, when in reality, the nature of small business is that they don't generally provide a huge income to the owner, and so even the owner wouldn't be hurt by a tax increase on those making more than 250k.
It is one of those issues that requires a little bit of nuance to understand, and is quite often lost in translation.
