Not gonna lie, that'd be awesome.

Big WANT. Although film as a media seems a little limited for the entire MGS experience. Trilogy from the start or bust, is what I'm thinking here.
The Christopher Nolan idea was pretty legit though. A scruffy Christian Bale does seem about right. But the voice...irreplaceable.
I'm down with Christian Bale as Snake. And fuck, please give this to Nolan.Spoiler: show
Oh... dear god. Someone throw a headband on the guy. O_O
I wasn't sure when you suggested Bale before, but after seeing that picture I think he would be perfect.
Dude. He had better stay away from his Batman voice if he gets the part. Watching TDKR reminded me how bad it was. It took me 20 minutes to be able to translate gibberish again.
If Kojima does the writing and Christian Bale does the acting, then I will have few worries for the movie! :D
Not sure if want, but will definitely see regardless.
Edit: As to the why, because ... Z O E 3 GET TO IT FUCKERS :<
i dont know how i feel about this
First TMNT now this...
As long as Kojima is doing the screenplay/script... This movie will not fail. ;o
Also it's a futuristic spy movie... Not a lot of the stuff in MGS franchise that hasn't already been done by Hollywood movies. This could be a new Bourne Trilogy (which was mad good).
the first line of the movie better be 'This is Snake i've inflitrated the [place to be inflitrated]' while under a cardboard box, with that it'll be the Best.Movie.Ever!
a 2 minute action scene followed by 4 hours of 2 dudes sitting in a room laying out exposition that explains what happened in that 2 minute action scene says otherwise.
Opening scene will be a cardboard box slipping in to a heavily guarded area. The man under the box then comes out of it, revealing it to be Raiden. He then immediately calls Rosemary and tells him how much he loves and misses her.

Kojima to write. Nolan to direct. I'm 100% for. Not a fan of crazy ass Bale being snake.
Eh, I'd rather Bale and Nolan stay away. Bale strikes me as a bit too scrawny and like others, I fear the Batman voice creeping in. Nolan would probably mean his usual crew creeping in, too, and like Batman, he'd probably wanna keep it "realistic" and exclude the supernatural stuff that partially made the main storyline... quirky. But for all we know, they could just start with the NES MG and plop Snake in a jungle to take out Big Boss and his super computer.
You wouldn't really want the same person playing Snake and Liquid since they were engineered to be different (I guess to see which would be superior).
Liquid mentions that Snake was meant to exhibit all of the dominant genes and he the recessive (it was actually the other way around), which aside from not meaning what most people think it means (dominant/recessive don't necessarily mean better/worse) also means they wouldn't be identical (more than just a hair color difference).
I always imagined Hugh Jackman making a great Snake, he'd pull off his humorous elements a lot better than Bale I think. Also based on Bale's Batman voice...he'd either have to speak in his normal tone and forgo the gritty cigarette voice or deliver every line in the movie awkwardly (as opposed to the Batman voice which was only sometimes). Tho ultimately I don't think anyone could replicate Hayter to a truly satisfactory degree.
I'm kinda looking forward to this (I did fan girl out when I saw this thread), was talking to my brother about it (he's only played MGS2) and he was all "MGS doesn't have much of a storyline, so it would be a short film." I think I might disown my brother.
I don't know what it is, but it's like people forget Christian Bale has been in movies other than Batman. Watch a few of them and you'd see that Bale perfectly capable of pulling off this role, as he's a pretty great actor. Don't let Batman alone inform your thoughts about him.
