This looks... awful. Both in design and graphics. Man, remember when a new FF game actually meant something?
FFXIII was terrible. Had 30ish hours on it and it felt like nothing more than a glorified tutorial the whole game with a nonsensical story. XIII-II was borrowed from a friend. Played it for about 5 hours before turning it off in disgust. I won't even bother with this one. It still amazes me how people thing XIII is a good game. I guess it's a matter of opinion, but fuck.

Screenies and another trailer it seems.
That trailer looked almost fan made it was so bad.
Enough to know that most have a block button. Heck, KH games have parry and dodge mapped to the Square button and they're similar enough to what you can see in this trailer. Are we gonna argue that KH games aren't action RPGs now?
Anyway in the newer (extended) trailer you can also see Lightning swapping gear on the fly. At one point she had something similar to a Black Mage.
Tri-Ace didn't make XIII-2, they simply helped the SE team.
Spoiler: show
Graphics look alright in the official trailer and in those screenshots.
Way to blow things out of proportion for a leaked trailer, geez.
it still looks like shit lol
BTW, Noel confirmed:
Spoiler: show
I'm confused, how does that confirm Noel?
Edit: Oh, you're saying it's his arm? Iunno, maybe.
Yeah lets wait to see his full face before saying an arm is someone
Like we had to wait till Yuna's face was revealed in Dissidia 012 because we obviously are idiots and couldn't tell that those were her feet?
What I mean is the could just be a flashback
A flashback won't count like I'd the chat was in
Get off your horses
I'm not saying he's not there
New trailer looks slightly better game play wise. But I'm still not really seeing any real time combat or anything that isn't already basically XIII. When defensive options are limited by the same resource (limited by any resource, really) as offensive options, you don't have an action game. Even if defensive options are limited usually you need a reason to move, whether it's to get into a better position to attack or to avoid dangerous things, I see neither currently. Unless the entire game is just 1 on 1 fights then I guess it doesn't really matter.
I see more freedom to attack without needing to stack commands next to each other. Maybe it'll flow better, maybe you'll have to press more buttons to do stuff in battle. All things I would've liked in the original games. But still no movement and likely they'll make the defense commands OP for lamers.
I hope this is another part of the city:

Because it looks SO much better (and fitting? wasnt everything supposed to sort of look like valhalla post-chaos?) than luxerion or w/e
something is telling me it isnt![]()
Why are they still wasting money on XIII? Where's Versus or XV for that matter? Should have just stopped at XIII. XIII-2 LOOKED nice, but the story was just a sad excuse to milk the series. Only thing I liked out of the trailer was her costume. Then they were like HAY GUYZ U LIKE ASSASSINS CREED SHES KINDA LIKE EZIO RITE? LOOK SUNGLASSES SHES KEWL TOO!
