The music of the fight is awesome
The best part was fighting Caius to this.
SE needs to copy and paste that whole sequence for lightning vs caius in XIII-3.
From what the IGN preview said: it has no ATB gauge and its all real time w/buttons mapped to the keys. So I'm gonna assume that you set your abilities and can't change them while in combat. It can work well and give you plenty of options if, for example, you have the 4 first set of skills and then holding R or L let's you map a different set
Can you actually move around yourself while fighting like KH? From the trailer I saw seems like she stayed in one spot except to run up when one of the mobs were in the air.
Yes, you can. You can also buy abilities like Dodge and Guard and there's even a parry system in place so you can temporarily stagger the enemy if you time it correctly.
Each Garb (costume) has a different ATB bar and a different set of abilities all customizable. Weapons and shields are also independent so there's a lot of options there. You can also change each Garbs color apparently.
Use Dodge and Guard is not the same as using the left stick to move yourself though. Will have to see if they allow free movement.

Well if gameplay is more hands-on and action based, then i'm certainly interested in diving back into this nonsensical japanese crap some call a plot.
Well, it may not be a traditional FF game, but it certainly looks pretty damn good to me so far.
Not sure how to feel on this one right now. The fact that the only change in Noel in x00 years is a grey highlight seems pretty lame, but according to those articles they stressed that the game was unfinished and apparently there were a lot of obvious placeholders.
I quite liked XIII-2 (well, the first hour and the last 3-4 hours mostly), I want this one to be good but Kitase seems ridiculously deluded about people's opinions of Lightning.
If Caius is back I'll consider it, whether he's still around seems kind of unclear but it seems likely given that secret ending from the original XIII-2.
Never finished XIII-2, what exactly connects all this time traveling nonsense to the original XIII?
