Hope was 14 in FFXIII and 24-27 in XIII-2. That being said, he was one of 2 characters that lived beyond his time (other being Alyssa) without the use of time-travel, given that he appears in 400AF. I suppose its possible that the effects of Chaos, or something within Bhunivelze affected him, or he was a paradox or something. That being said, it doesn't make sense that he would go back before 24 years of age.
interestingly he sounds like his XIII-2 version. (edit: then again same voice actor)

I'm guessing that Hope is not the XIII-2 Hope.
Either that, or the fact that Lightning only knows 14-year-old hope has something to do with his appearance, or rather, how she sees him.
Who knows, everything is fucked up in the post-chaos world.

I can't wait to watch Leta_JP live stream this bitch like with FFXIII-2. I actually hit my data cap off watching two perfect playthroughs of FFXIII-2 before it came out in the states.

I'm excited for the game but i'm hoping they fix some of the lighting and load times. The switch from field to battle seemed a lot longer than it should be, but i'm going to chalk it up to an earlier build. After playing the Last of Us it feels like SE should be able to squeeze more graphical prowess out of the PS3, but that could be the trade off more a more open/non-linear world.

Guys guys, that lightning cloud costume is a preview of how we'll see cross-dressed cloud in a FF7 remake sometime later. If it works well here then the game would be given the green light (for a remake!)!

Also, fuck you Square for making a complete shitfest out of this FF13 trilogy. Everybody stops aging, yet Hope REGRESSES BACK to how Lightning remembers him. Sure, why not, it's not like they need a legit reason or anything. Chalk it up to chaos/time travel/Hope's body reacting to the capsule.... or... something.
He even wears the same damn clothing (other than a different scarf)... like, really?
Oh and if anyone paid attention to that video that was posted here earlier with the gameplay, Hope apparently can see what Lightning sees, but did ont see Lumina when she showed up to spawn that boss infront of Lightning... "Light who are you talking to? Concentrate on the enemy!" or some shit. Interesting.

I don't like young Hope either but you're bashing them for not having a legit reason for it before you play the game and see what the reasoning is..

Feel free to bash it when it actually comes out and is something stupid though.

Nah, not really bashing. Just irritated with FF13 Hope in general, especially after 13-2 Hope was such a badass.
That being said, the story is already a trainwreck haha, don't expect some good explanation.

I would consider myself a pretty big FF7 fan but I have to say the Cloud costume is a horrible idea and looks twice as terrible. Having this as a bonus makes me NOT want to pre-order. Hope those samurai ones look better.

I know I'm not forced to use it, and it's more about making the big bucks, especially with the situation they are in now, but doesn't mean I have to like it >(

I wish they straight-up cloned that entire battle/job system into a new FF installment. They could easily get away with it considering how damn good it was and how many people didn't even experience it thanks to the Charlie's Angels bullshit scaring everyone off.

I remember getting to the end of the first mission and not being able to get past some point and never playing it again. (IDK how old I was then. I know I could figure it out now though.)

I'm not trying to compare it to X-2.

I just really don't like all the "look at this outfit, and this one, and this one and this one"

I fucking get it, there are outfits. show some gameplay or something different.

This is the most logical explanation and it could also be the reason why Lumina looks like Serah.

Also can we stop with the "Charlie's Angels" bs? X-2 had nothing to do with that. It's actually referring to the "magical girls" genre that was so popular back then in Japan (and all over the world too).
