This trailer made me want the game even less

agreed. you can't deny the similarity and references here and there.
even if it wasn't drawing direct influence from Charlies Angels.. you have subtleties like the retro-looking font and the retro-styled orchestra-pop music that hark back to the 1970s when Charlies Angel was a hit. they're intentional you know.

They're intentional but they're not referencing an american show. Has anyone watched anime in the 90s? The dressphere animations and all the posing are all pretty clear references to things like Sailor Moon and many other anime of the same genre that followed, not an old american show that most japanese people won't even know about.
If they had 5 girls instead of 3 I'm sure the Charlie's Angels comparison would've never been mentioned.

On topic: I'm probably the only one really interested in this game I guess. I'm liking all the videos they've been releasing.

I think we're all intrigued at this point because we've invested too much in this story already.
It doesn't change the fact that it seems like a complete trainwreck.

SE is known to reference more than 1 thing per game lol. Noones saying it isn't also full of Sailor moon shit, but to deny the charlies angel reference is silly.

charlies angels was actually pretty big in Japan as far as i can remember. even if the kids didn't know it (they would have, film reboot in 2000) the devs certainly did. to anyone who could possibly have contact and influence in the west, charlies angels is almost by default referenced so long as you have 3 girls fighting together, and also for the concept of girl power. if you had 5 girls i suppose people would mention spice girls lol.

but what Eurell said is exactly on point not just for SE but for art in general. X-2 would not only have had 1 source of influence. different media with similar concepts would no doubt have weighed in somehow and theres no reason to limit it to 1 ONRY. not to mention dev's own thoughts on the subject.

on topic: the gameplay video makes me more interested in the game. i was initially of the belief that each Schemata was built in with 4 commands but now i see they're more like.. garment grids? Schemata have sub schemata which dont set commands but grant abilities and bonuses.. and commands can be customized.

thats probably useful like how i think they set Thunder on all 3 schematas (didn't pay that close attention) so they could chainspam it non-stop on all 3 roles to stagger the enemy.

Yeah, I think there was an image of the equipment screen or something and it showed you could arrange commands.

Gameplay certainly looks interesting, but is anyone annoyed by the fact she can only walk around the field of battle? I mean, what's the point of allowing us to move her if she's not even going to bother running? I doubt you can avoid a lot of moves by simply waddling around the enemy.

What game do you think this is? Kingdom Hearts?

Seriously though, yeah the FF13 series hasn't been the greatest, but I've still really enjoyed them. I'll probably pick this game up on day one like I have the other 2

No, I don't think it's KH. I also don't expect to spam x and jump over enemies in LR. I did expect her to move faster than the slow side-stepping she seems to be doing.

That being said, I'll probably buy it on day 1 also... might as well, I got the other two and I need closure in video games lol.

Is that FF14 pic legit? looks real enough. I would love to dress my pld and mnk up on 14 up as snow (i associate snow with those 2 jobs) and maybe lightning as thf or some other job that uses agile like moves, lancer maybe.

It's real. We are supposed to get Lightnings suits for female characters, Snow for male, as well as XIII weapons and a Behemoth FATE with Lightning.

I think it's a fun thing for them to do for fans, I hope to see more costumes in the future
