Personally I see nothing wrong with it. It's just optional aesthetics. As long as gameplay or story (whichever is more important to you) is good, no reason to fret over it.

I'm guessing the concern is that for a gaming releasing in 2 months time (Japan), this is "the best" they can do to get people interested.

On hindsight of previous XIII releases at least it's better than giving away 1/4 of the story to the press before the game is even out
