back to wanting this game again
poor chocobo
looks really good btw
So is the whole game going to be Lightning solo or will you have helpers like the previous 2? The gameplay from that clip looked like a nice step from the other games, going through the menus was too time-consuming with the pace of the battles.
Those screens of Lightning in that purple dress mmmmmmhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Light solo
Phoenix Down specifically says "Revives Lightning from KO", so seems like entire game will likely be Lightning onry.
The plucky chocobo you save from danger!
Kinda getting a slower paced Tales vibe from the combat system.
Just like the summon? triggers auto when dead!
Seeing as there appear to be item slots similar to KH I wouldn't be surprised as it was auto-raise, yeah.
i believe the description says it triggers when she KO's.. so its automatic (this is akin to FFVII dirge of cerberus). the other way that theyve done it is in Crisis Core where Zack has to use the phoenix down and it gives him auto-life for that battle only.
This actually looks fun. Doesn't remind me of tales, but I'm still interested in playing it.
Fang Scan, details
Spoiler: showhttp://gematsu.com/2013/10/jump-scan...htning-returnsFang will join Vanille as one of Final Fantasy XIII‘s returning party characters in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. This week’s Jump shares some details.
Here’s her description: “The woman who supported Cocoon and became a crystal. She awoke many years ago, and at first was at the Luxerion Salvation Temple. Now she is the leader of a band of thieves.”
And some quotes from the magazine:
- “At the stronghold of the Dead Dunes robber band, meet Fang once again! She has something to ask of Lightning.”
- “Fang, who moves around separated from her family Vanille. The reason for this…”
- “Search the desert ruins for holy treasure and fight together with Fang.”
- “(Fang): The gods will use us… no, Vanille, as a tool…”

http://eu.square-enix.com/en/blog/fa...returns-ffxiiiWith less than a month until the Japanese release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, I’m sure the majority of you lovely guys and gals will be stealing a peek at the game way before the western release. So let’s nurture that curiosity for now with a ton of new screenshots from the game.
You remember Fang, right? Of course you do, the hard-headed l’Cie was only one of the strongest playable characters in FFXIII! Along with Vanille, they defeated Orphan and prevented the collision between Cocoon and Pulse by transforming into a crystal pillar between the two worlds. For centuries, Fang and Vanille slept within said crystal pillar, holding Cocoon aloft in the sky. But a few short years ago, they awoke. At first, the pair lived under the care of the Order, until Fang set out to the Dead Dunes, a barren expanse of desert within Nova Chrysalia, in search of a long-lost relic. She did not return.
Fang and Lightning eventually reunite and team up to explore the ancient ruins that lie buried beneath the sands of the Dead Dunes. When battle erupts, Fang fights by Lightning’s side, and the pair can easily take on foes that would be extremely difficult to defeat alone.
In the world of Nova Chrysalia, no new humans are born and there are limited numbers of each monster species. When Lightning slays all of one species, they become extinct, never to be seen again. The last survivor of a monster species is known as the Last One. It is extraordinarily powerful, far more so than its defeated predecessors. When the Last One is defeated, the species is extinct... although some monster species can never be eradicated completely.
We’re not sure you’ll need it, but when necessary Lightning can flee from battle by using the EP Ability: Escape. Back out, reconfigure Lightning’s schemata, and challenge the monster again if you wish – but you and I both know that true Final Fantasy players never flee from battle!
Still mad this isnt on ps4.
