They stuff a lot of shit into the schedule. I find myself using Chronostasis quite often... which is normal I guess. But kind of nice to have some direction. The game does seem pretty open with being able to do a bunch of different main story missions as once as well as all those side-quests

I find it pretty fun.. but am annoyed that I can't just grind mobs to level up and get stronger lol. a little too used to that. also battle seem really pointless.

first playthru on Easy and without much use of the strategy guide so i'm actually learning stuff in the game and familiarizing myself for a proper playthru/perfect game blabla.
not having to deal with HP resource management is quite a godsend if you're not familiar enough with the battle system. I've found myself gradually figuring out enemy attack patterns and weaknesses tho.

I do have to say it. Buster Sword is pretty hax.. and as far as i can tell. stat progression gap isn't especially huge 1-3 star difficulties, and some skill will be able to compensate. somehow I have to admit i like my FFs to be a little more mindless

Not if you wanna explore without running down the timer. Or do quests. I can imagine on later playthroughs it being less necessary, but for my first playthrough I'm fighting a lot just so I can chronostasis and explore.

This game is amazing. I am really glad it's so easy to farm infinite time, because the whole time limit shit almost made me not want to play it when it was announced (why the fuck would you discourage exploring like that in an rpg? lol). Needing to fight stuff constantly for EP is a bit annoying, but not a big deal at all. Probably 15 hours in, and still on day 2. If i knew wtf at first, i'd probably still be on day 1. Although what was up with all the monsters disappearing in dead dunes after i beat the boss there? Only anubises, and barely any, so i had to leave because i couldn't maintain ep at all.

And the dress up simulaor just makes it that much better.

Also the cloud and yuna garbs at the start of the game are hilariously OP. Not sure how i feel about that.

I'm starting to like the game more as I go along as well, once I figured out (partially thanks to some posts here) how to Ep farm quickly. I still hate having the clock there, I can't use any other EP abilities other than chronostasis at this point. Might not have to worry about it as much on later playthroughs, but I thinks it's a bad design to have a key mechanic (EP) to be so restricted for the majority of the game.

Finding the game a challenge, is an understatement. No Cloud or Yuna OPness here, and I'm not really getting the staggering conditions, such as right after attacks and what not. Whether I guard/attack or magic, I'm not staggering any faster on 1-5 boss then if I just try to build up ability bars and unleash. Also, the fuck do you activate things like Brave/Protect Thief and the like? Only just finished Mission 1-5, so if its something I can't get until later, the hell do weapons already have the abilities?

You're probably not staggering faster because the modifier on the ability that you are using low. For that fight I believe that the stagger amplitude will increase faster after an attack so the ideal circumstance would be to get a perfect guard, then go in full blast to build the stagger amplitude if not completely stagger him.

As for the passives, if you R2/RT on the item that holds the ability it'll tell you how to activate it. Most of the time it's guarding for half an ATB bar to activate the effect.

For the 1-5 fight especially, I found that perfect guarding put the boss into a state damn close to staggered, if it didn't just stagger the boss outright. The boss is also really weak to lighting element, so electronica, en-thunder and thunder spam help things a lot too.

The only thing i'm really pissed off about in this game is the fact that the localization team put all the times in the quest descriptions in 12hr format instead of 24hr format. I hate converting the times.

Well I beat the game and got the secret ending. Gotta say I'm satisfied with this one. A lot of thought was put into the battle system, and it was a real challenge.

Gonna take a break before I'm ready to dive right into Hard Mode, but this game's a keeper.

Cool, maybe you can answer a question of mine:
    Spoiler: show
After you beat all the main quests, what do you do then? Just do side quests until day 13? On Day 7 fwiw

Do at least 40 subquests (Prayers doesn't count) to gain access to an extra day and The Ultimate Lair. The Lair is basically a gauntlet where you fight the Lost Ones, with an Optional Boss at the end. Time flows during battle within that dungeon, so it's very important that you have the best equipment and stats you can get.

Check the enemy with R2 to see how to stagger it. Some are nearly impossible to stagger without the right element. Earth eaters in dead dunes for example, are nearly impossible to stagger without wind.

It has nothing to do with the boss but the area itself. There are less monsters at night in the Dead Dunes.

Is there a way to know the timing of just magic? I can just attack easily enough (once the rhythm is down) but magic still hard to do consistently.

So I didn't realize that killing the omega version of the mobs made them go extinct until after I killed 3 of them including the reavers I was farming for EP. D'oh.

Where exactly does the Chocobo Eater spawn? I know on the Eremite Plains but been going in circles there for some time and never seen it.

Edit: And I didn't know that the omega mobs drop an item on the ground when they die. Missed out on the 900 strength/magic sword from the reaver. Awesome.

Just a tip, the boss for the wildlands is rediculous. Be sure to do a hard save before the final room in case you want to bail and do other missions.
