Hounds are fine for solo, there's really nothing else worth using in PVE if you're human.
Renewed focus is OK, especially since you can use it while moving now to run stuff, but honestly no argument can be made for either tome while solo.

QFT. Tomes don't do much if you're solo. Though I need to figure out a way to fight in WvW when I'm built more for support than damage.

I always just run Courage... it's like 20 seconds of being impossible to kill that you finish off with a full heal. Almost never have to actually resort to it, but anything worth using an elite on is probably gonna just roll your Hounds with AoE anyway.

Well it's mostly for PvE solo. I haven't decided on an elite for WvW. Though I guess Courage would be an okay choice to help spam heal people using rams on gates.

No one should ever use a human elite. Courage is so amazing I don't know how ANYONE could ever think using hounds is ever a viable option for anything in existance.

Yes, I would like to do 3% more damage in exchange for a FULL AOE HEAL, protection, AOE daze, etc.

Why do you need any of that when you're solo in PvE

Tomes are only worth shit when you're using them to their fullest, and that's in group PvE and PvP. Solo PvE sees little benefit from any tome ability, as the healing ones are unnecessary, and the rest are either unnecessary or take too long to launch for trash peasants. Racial summons and shit are absolutely fine.

Also worth noting that, situationally, Renewed Focus is a superior elite to either tome.

Doing 3% more dmg isn't that big of a deal compared to being able to completely full heal yourself every 3 minutes. "oh shit" emergency button vs "zomg I get to do more damage, oh wait anything this difficult will 1-2 shot my useless pets anyways.."

As a Guardian all your elites are fucking worthless on trash mobs anyway, racial or otherwise. The times you may actually benefit from popping one (shit like champs or large groups of mobs+vets) Courage or Renewed Focus is literally always gonna be better. In that sense I agree with her at least, but I don't really give a shit what you use because it's never gonna make or break a situation solo so who gives a fuck, if you use Hounds in a dungeon party though I'll slap the shit outta you. Dunno, when I'm soloing PvE, popping my charr minions to kill stuff a little faster always seems more useful to me than a heal I never need, but it's whatever, I was simply against the "using anything except courage IN ANY SITUATION EVER" bit.

Did u do single or 10/10/10? I'd do 10/10/10 because even though its considered a lower chance, all you need is to get lucky once to make it worthwhile

i dont know why people would use the singles method, 10's are more likely to yield something good if its not clover, i get that you need 77 of the clovers, but why not just push for 80 instead, should atleast get more mats towards might or magic that way.
