Gameplay is mostly the same; with a minor feature added each installment. The awesome thing about it is the story. You don't NEED to play the older ones, but you'll really be missing out if you don't. It's not like playing metal gear on ps4, then having to go back to play the mechanics of metal gear on ps1.

The game flows similarly in terms of game play it's not like you're going to hit a big "oh shit, this gameplay/mechanics is awful". Sit back and enjoy the story and how the games connect with one another.

I'm not saying it was not. I'm saying that 1-3 were amazing, and this recent one blows my mind. Apollo Justice didn't blow my mind, but he's a pretty kickass guy, especially after DD.
