Well, it is. The article you linked indicates a reason for the judge deciding as he did was because Michelle's GID was causing her to attempt suicide. And what medical need exists if the chance for actual physical damage is not present? And if it's just about being generally depressed over her GID, then address the concerns about other inmates depression over being incarcerated.

Well i haven't read all 126 pages of the ruling, but i'm gonna go ahead and assume that's not the only reason. If it was the most important reason, then the judge made the right decision for the wrong reason. But since neither of us have read the ruling, there's little sense arguing that.
