Not a random complaint this time, but it can still go here: I got an email from Anet earlier today. Someone apparently tried to access my account from Tokyo, but Anet region blocked them and apparently, they couldn't log into my email account to verify that they were me. I verified, changed the password, logged in to check my characters, and no harm, no foul.
Sucks that people find ways to find your passwords, but Kudos to Anet and other companies for having multiple layers of protection. Better safe than sorry.
Nobody has attempted to get in to mine yet, but after my gf got her account jacked I went ahead and changed my password to one with an obscene length. Unless they straight up hack Anets database and decrypt them I think I'm golden.
Not sure why, but seeing ArenaNet say "the patch on 10/8 will fix this this and this" when today's patch hasn't even come out yet is annoying the fuck out of me.
90% sure the engine has nothing to do with bugs. Its XI all over again, where the poor engine is dictating what I can and cannot do, or bugs are crippling what I actually want to do, due to it not working.
I have no idea why they call them monday patches yet they happen on tuesday ;xDefault

ALSO! Remember when i said the patch is in 26 hours not 2? YEAH!
Most annoying thing to me is that bugged 80 events screw up your chance to purchase from karma vendors. They really should just keep dungeons & karma vendors perma-open until they can get the shit fixed.
I like the concept of not having access to all vendors until the community comes together and stomps the enemy, but yeah, with all the bugginess it's a pain.
Ori and Orian/Ancient saplings aren't respawning. Seems people on every server are having this problem. If they wait a week to fix this shit I will be super pissed... how the hell else do yu make money if you can't even farm? 2 Ori nodes in all of Orr have respawned and 1 in Frostreach. amazing...
The servers reset so they changed position, that is all.
Fair enough, assumed she was looking at old positions since they only just changed lastnight.
Could be an intentional change to lower the amount of t6 stuff coming in to the economy. It's so easy to get so much each day, especially if rich nodes are up anywhere. Ectos are like the only thing not easily attainable for level 80 exotics, and even those come in to the economy quickly (price has been slowly declining for a while as more and more people get their gear finished).
Just noticed this:
Lol... =-= ;; Anyone else?
yeah
I had a raptor jesus moment while pooping.
If the entire game is "endgame" then why do we have levels?
Because people like a sense of progression and direction. As silly as it sounds, people don't like a shitload of choices being thrown their way immediately either. If you gave someone a new class with every skill unlocked and they had to try and work out what 3 skills to use and what to do with traits without knowing anything, it would turn your average player off.
For the past few days I seriously began to question why the game wasn't simply 10 levels or so, gaining skillpoints at 10ths of a level or something. Level 1 would still be 1 ... 10 would be Level 2 ... 20 would be level 3 ... etc ... until 80 being level 9 ...then just tack on 1 more level and bam ... balance the game on that.
Guild wars 1 was 20 levels which you hit in less then a day, you got max stat armor for essentially free, and from there it was just a grind for better looking things and titles. So they've tried that before and I guess they didn't want to go with it again?
The way I see it they basically figured... we don't want a traditional MMO, with a monthly fee and level grinds, because people are sick of that shit and we don't have the means to compete with WoW apples to apples. But... we do want live servers, and we need to call it an MMO to compete directly with that genre, so why not use levels as a way to keep people on an organized path through the areas and just make it easy as fuck to level... and then in expansions we can raise the cap, to present them as "high level" areas and force new players to experience the old crap first.
Either way, they gotta fix their shit. The part of this game that excites me the most is the potential for massive amounts of new content, which they can't even start to think about until they fix what they got.
