What? No respect for Forgal Kernsson? The Nord badass that enjoyed taking in the scenery and beating the ever-living crap out of idiots?

I will agree though, Traeherne was a pretty weak character. Other than that though, I thought the story wasn't too bad. Only part of the story I didn't like was the first ~20ish levels of it since once you're introduced to the orders, all those NPCs that you met through your choices during character creation and whatnot are never seen again except the member from Destiny's Edge.

That fool Forgal couldn't even take out a ships worth of undead. Son, I took on the whole damn undead empire. Mentor my ass. I told him wtf was going down. Same with the damn Vigil leader, she does absolutely nothing but what I tell her to do.

Just make me the damn emperor of the universe like it should be.

But thats how it's been in every guild wars story, you're there to aid whoever (mhenlo/togo/kormir) in their goal (prophecies/affliction/nightfall) and they take all the credit.

The fountain fight with the vocal and everyone basically joining in was probably my favorite of the story fights even if the fight itself was cake. Honestly felt like more of a climax than actually fighting Zhaitan.

But yeah, on the PvP gear topic earlier, one of Rift's blunders was PvP gear also being pretty damn good in PvE, though Trion kinda got fussy over people with good PvE gear not caring much about the PvP gear. So, they add stats like Valor (defense) and Vengeance (offense) on PvP gear to give more dedicated PvPers an "edge" in such. This pretty much led to the hardcores consistently raping casuals, which then led to a half-assed attempt of ranking match-ups of people like 1-20, 30-40, etc.. except for the part it just annoyingly increased queue times or resulted in broader range pools where lower end folks were still stomped. They'd then experimented in bolstering, I think bumping people up to Rank 36ish stats despite 50 being the current cap, but I think they'd scrapped it (for now, or at least until SL). Still, you got other in-class problems like armor being comparatively pointless since most builds favored some degree of elemental damage, which basically forced warriors into one or two builds that everyone else constantly complained about despite any other warrior build being fodder and easily kited. Healing was also grossly overpowered in PvP, of which warriors had a trait to reduce healing received on a target (now gone, no doubt due to more bitching). I haven't fucked much with their PvP since the soul overhauls, but I never participated because I liked PvP: They just unfortunately put good gear behind it.

Sadly, it reminds me of Aion, only Aion took it a step further with not only PvP gear having superior stats to PvE gear, but they also had the added PvP offense/defense stats so even top-end PvEers were fucked. Aion was also an utter cock about losing PvP currency if you'd died, typically to groups of gankers who'd out-geared you anyway or stupidly unbalanced classes like Rangers (perma-stun/knockbacks) or Assassins (easily abused stealth/perma-stun). There was also the stupid "gaydar" shit where you could set chat filters to see enemy actions from even outside visual range, making it easier for stalkers to find targets even if they were like 3 screens away.

For fucks sake, trying to explain to people on official forums why the current method of acquiring legendaries is not challenging and is only pushing people to but gold, is like blowing my mind.

Never guess who the people defending the system are.

As somebody who is working towards legendary but nowhere near close to one yet I'll say it again. Legendaries are fine aside from the precursors.

What i would like to see is some kind of recipe to make a precursor and not the rng shit that its current form is.

Hey, Chloromancer was the shit. A healer that beats the piss out of mobs to heal. I'm digging it. It was like Dancer, but better. MUCH better.

    Here's a legitimate complaint:

When there are fucking 50 people at an event, how about you give regular mobs a BIT MORE HP SO I CAN FUCKING GET CREDIT FOR KILLING THEM. Jesus christ did the entire Plinx chain, broodmother, and the 2 balthazar events and got like 20 kills total because I didn't even fucking fill up my bloodlust as a shortbow thief.

    Just ARGH.

I'm sure the culling issue is to blame for some of this but even on Vet mobs I will be fighting it from 100% hp to death and still not get credit.

Precursors should be some epic chain instead of lol RNG + gold. The rest of the legendary components are really fun and cool, taking lots of time and commitment, making precursors less about being rich and lucky wouldn't make everyone suddenly have 9000 legendaries...

That would involve interacting with people, and people are stupid.

Know that feel Kuishen. I am hoping Anet does something to the AOE bombs for those events. Or add more fights similar to the dragons with a chest of loot at the end.

People 'get' parties at Plinx. Just say you're looking for a group or put the icon up and you'll get a party fast. As people drop, look for new people and invite them. If they don't join, someone soon will and people will wander in and out as they get bored or go to do other things.

Is there any real benefit to having a group for dragons or anything like that? I've had a few and noticed jack crap in difference.

Dragons? Not really, I could see it being useful for Jormag to tag more elementals, but aside from that a group wouldn't increase your loot quality from chests. I definitely notice a difference for things like Plinx though... if I get into a group where I'm not the only one doing damage.

Ahh so it's only for Orr events. No wonder why that guy failed hardcore inviting others to dragon farming.

I don't do Orr unless its with friends or guildies now. And hopping around for the 3 dragons gets pretty expensive.

So I've been grinding at Thaumanova Reactor now after my dungeon runs. Out of all the "end point" locations in 1-15 areas, it's by far my favorite (not just because I'm an Asura player and fan ). Also a great place to get your daily achievement done. A number of events run in and just outside of it. Hell, even has a karma vendor inside to sell junk. Two chests as well that I've gotten a few rares from already. Only draw back of course is not being able to gather of course.
