I always expect to drop at least one person a run.
I always expect to drop at least one person a run.
People with the holiday bell on the highest octave spamming that ring over and over and over and over. My.Fucking.Ears
Warriors need to understand that CC is important. I just did a lv32 fractal with a warrior that didn't have hammer skills unlocked, but he had a sunrise. Sorry to say, but hundred blades isn't worth shit vs. a dozen buffed ascalonian warriors.
also, charr > asura
Was in a level 22 the other day with another elementalist... he was using S/D so I assumed he was trying the new mega might stacking build that's being tested. Unfortunately all he ended up doing was dying like a moron. Damn idiots and their freaking glass cannon builds that do shit. Funny thing was that the rest of the group ( most were shit ) still got more stacks of might than him.
My biggest complaint is finding out about exploits after they get closed. I guess there was some super easy way to get keys from the donations trading in LA. Which gave people an overabundance of BL kits, which in turn let Jewelers basically get just one snowflake and turn mithril into ectos, because they could 100% recover the snowflake. Possibly for a while there it might have been profitable to buy BL kits to do this as well (I don't feel like doing the math now that the recipe is killed anyhow). I should have known something was funny with mithril ore prices going up so much recently. Anyhow, when there's people on the OF saying they made 100G just doing this, it grinds my gears.
If you want to find exploits, you'll need to get into better circles of like minded people and attempt to discover them yourself. They'll always get nerfed/closed, you just have to try harder to get ahead of the curve. Only idiots go public with what they find because it cuts into your profit as it only increases the speed in which the loophole will get closed.
DC'ing in fractals still not fixed, I give anet a lot of praise where they deserve it but this shit is unacceptable.
Overflow glitch is annoying as hell to. Had to boot two people form a frac run since the mini map showed them in our overflow, but not on our party list.
End areas killed the game for me. They're boring as hell, and I don't know how many Risen I have killed just trying to go from one Waypoint to the other.
Then I start a new story mission and guess what? More risen!
I honestly don't know what were they thinking, when they decided to stuff 3 different places with the same mobs over and over.
FFXI had beastmen in almost every area.
But your forgetting the first protagonist is an undead dragon which resides in orr, so naturally the area is full of the undead. Your equally going to see the crystal desert loaded with branded, northern shiverpeaks full of icebrood and the underground of tyria full of destroyers.
It's hard to draw comparisons with FFXI, since that game has a completely different progression and no quest hubs. I never had to spend weeks in the same areas, unless you count Colibris and merit parties, of course.FFXI had beastmen in almost every area.
Lore-wise, I know about the dragon and the undead, but that's not enough to justify three high-level areas, and a lot of content, being an endless pattern of risen mobs.
They're not even arranged in settlements, they're all just scattered all around the map so wherever I turn, some risen will eventually aggro me. They're not a threat, they're just annoying.
In WoW, for example, the Icecrown Citadel zone was full of undead as well, but having flying mounts made a huge difference because I eventually stopped to fight the same mobs over and over.
If people still cleared the temples, some of the undead gets replaced with elementals/spirits. But why the hell would anyone be messing around with temples when you could be running a dungeon for way more loot/gold/karma/xp?
You don't have to kill the undead. Very easy to just through them all so long as You are careful. Stopping to fight every single mob along the way is your own choice. I do full ori runs every day and each day I end up killing a Wooping 0-2 rise
The problem with Orr is the lack of incentive for all 3 zones to stay crowded. Everyone gathers 'round CS for the events there but ML and SoD are usually ghost towns with a handful of people either hitting nodes or making their way to CS. Events need to be more rewarding to give the world some sense of endgame, large scale PvE.
Dragons don't count either. Claw of Jormag is the only battle that approaches anything close to a large-scale fight mainly because he stalls the fight with walls and phases. Teq dies so fast it's not even funny and Shat isn't far behind that.
Maybe some sort of specific to each zone of Orr tokens are required for pieces of gear/skins to get people to participate in the event chains / temple battles. No Karma doesn't cut it.
Yeah, let's create a dynamic ever changing world then make it completely useless and force everyone into dungeons, love it~!
It's just stupid, at release there was TONS of people in the world, dungeons were considered a waste of time and you constantly saw people in every zone, especially orr zones and 70+ zones, then they slowly nerfed every good farming spot while buffing the fuck out of dungeon rewards and adding a new dungeon with a new tier of loot you could only get in that dungeon. What exactly did they think would happen? Now we have people bitching about that and trying to post new ways to get people back out into the world, lol.
Create game about the world, then turn it into another themepark MMO slowly after a few patches, gj anet.
Ascended rings/back still don't bother me at all, since the stat delta is still fairly minor. And the only place in the game that "requires" them is where they drop. If they added agony to all Champion+ mobs in the game then that would have been a real disaster. What really killed Orr for me was karma though. Adding karma jugs and karma to dungeons made dynamic event chains really awful in comparison. Getting 7200 karma per jug (why would you use them without boosters?) makes the few hundred you can get per event a joke. If they had kept karma a more limited form of currency, and always allowed the BiS gear to be purchased with it, then they easily could have kept events more balanced with different reward paths. Although they would have needed to balance more chains to avoid Plinx-esque clusterfucks. But it's pretty unfixable now with the karma floodgates open for so long, so no use crying over that spilt milk.
Ascended items need to be put in Orr and I suspect as they slowly trickle out more Ascended items we'll see it happen.
Sunset Cove also needs something... anything. The zone seems like such a huge PvE waste. Yay Karka, pointless event chains and a spiral staircase with a Rich Ori node. Did they think people were going to fight that champ for the node? lol, you gotta be kidding me.
I think the big problem with getting people into the world is just lack of stuff to do. Some zones just have nothing in them of use but for leveling. 11 had stuff like NMs and various quests/ fishing / helm stuff to spread everyone out.
Couple that with very little incentive to make a second character to do a different job and you start running into the problem we have now.
Id like to see fishing in this game and NMs added. The dragons are nice but id like to see more of that in the zones. I ways felt NMs in 11, baring drops, was such an effective mechanism for getting people out if town and offering decent rewards.
Camping NMs was terrible, may that shit rot in FFXI along with 3-5day spawn NMs.
Fishing would be cool but I think there is plenty of incentive to roll different classes in this game. EXP is fast, personal taste for other jobs for PVP/WvW has appeal and overall you're not penalized for having multiple characters at your disposal. The dragons just get facerolled for your blues/greens and the overworld endgame zones are just horribly lacking in anything concrete. Failing Orr missions has what consequences? Losing the waypoint? lol, who the fuck cares.
The game lacks a community aspect that drives people to want endgame PvE successes. As WvW is supposed to unite the server so should endgame PvE want the full resources of the endgame community at points X, Y or Z. If they fix that via (ascended) loot and spread people around to the numerous zones then everything falls together nicely. More things like Shadow Behemoth pls.
