Maguuma loves it some siege equipment, though Darkhaven loves some Alpha Seige Golems. They used about 10 to insta gib our Borderlands main keep; those things should not be allowed to use waypoints, or mesmer portals.

Yeah a guild on Maguuma called SFD uses golems every time they go out in force. They run with a lot of mesmers so they move those things damn quickly and steathly. It can feel like cheating sometimes when you see a reinforced gate drop so quickly the enemy can't even have time to react to it.
Pretty sure that there will be adjustments made so that they can't use Waypoints or portals. I really don't think their intent was to see this type of behavior.
Hey Rhyis, I see you're mad on the official forums. As somebody from [VI]: Sorry. It wasn't our intention to stomp (this bad) during this match. We moved down a tier to a server which needed NA players, a server which hadn't won in a long time, but could very well travel up to their correct place in the ranking with help. You should have a great match next week though, no more 12hr limitations to owning a point on the map.
edit..
Just want to add: DB guilds transferring is better for everyone involved. Coming from somebody who values community way more than 99% of the people out there (I played XI after all), this is for the best. What we saw when we played on DB wasn't a server interested in WvW, it was a server interested in PvE. If anything the guilds that transferred were their own community within the community because nobody ever wanted to help us out when we were down, that's why everyone went together. You would probably have to have played our server when we were losing to see this (maybe you'll see it this week). BG, CD, JQ, etc all said that DB quits way too easily, and it is true. As a guild, every weekend was basically a job, 12hr shifts just to make sure our server would sign on for the 3 more days.
So what do we do? Stay? Transfer to Kaineng to avoid all the "quitter" talk, and stop expecting help from the community you're supposed to be a part of (because Kaineng just doesn't have enough)? Or transfer to the anomaly of the NA servers, balance them out, and go to sleep at normal times?
Posting it here because its almost guaranteed to get a more civil conversation than over there.
Night capping is horrible on the european servers. Seafarer's Rest is kinda struggling atm against arborstone because of the french canadians on their server. SR has just been bumped up to T2 from T3 and we're noticing that the lack of NA/Oceanic is killing our scores but it was kind of expected against arborstone, they're a T1 server and have a massive population difference compared to us. Our single redeeming feature is that during EU Day & Prime we're fucking awesome because of the alliance our guilds have. but 8 hours uncontested means alot of hard work in the mornings.
I don't even care about the score, as we fought SoS last week too. I knew what was gonna happen. SoS beat us in points last week too and they didn't have a NA presence at all. It was only going to get worse with major increase of players in the NA hours. QQ etc.
Mag gave up this match before it even began. In the first hour of the match we already started to say screw points and just did Pangloss defense for shits, giggles, and badges.
Ironically this week is actually better than last week. I never even saw a SoS player in the full 7 days last match, but they destroyed us in points. At least I know what SoS looks like now.
Well I just don't want you to hate most of us transfers. You can hate TSym, though, their members talk a lot of shit so they probably deserve it even if they are our allies (and part of our "community"). lol
The talk of transferring wasn't some "hey lets just go win over here." We went through what we want from the game, what we as a guild should do, the root of the problem, what anet should've done, etc. Honestly this game would've been so much better with international servers.
I only get angry at fair weather transfers. Change from week to week to whoever happens to be winning a match up that week. That's weak tea and fucks the whole game up. If you're swapping to find a new home world you intent to stay with forever, that's something else entirely.
That's what it was entirely. We were on DB since 2hrs after the server was announced, probably the same for the other guilds that transferred (I know it was the same for at least OnS and ATac). That thread is just a lot of mudslinging and misinformation, I want to try and correct that but I already know its no use.
edit: Also even though I'm on SoS now, I completely understand your nightcapping post. They say they know this more than anybody, but they haven't defended a garrison from 2 sides for 8hrs straight multiple times because you are getting double teamed and can't push out but don't want to lose your last point on the map. Then you lose that same garrison after you go to sleep. You only got +25 points on that map for 8hrs, but you fought as hard as possible for that +25.
They might see it in the future but I don't think they've seen it yet. Even when DB was up in T2, oceanic timezones mainly consisted of avoiding the other servers zerg and capping the map they wasn't on.
ANet gotta stop free transfers soon
Or have some kind of penalty where you can't enter RvR for X number of days after a transfer. Real transfers won't mind too much since they want to stay anyway, so what's a few days?
Yeah, I'd be okay with like a week cooldown on RvR with transfers in general staying free, but if you want to RvR RIGHT NAO, then pay whatever they intended in gems. Might be a pittance for some, but it's also curb the fair weather crowd a bit.
Speaking of that, we actually transferred Wednesday night/Thursday morning and didn't even play till this match, so that we didn't screw up the match that was already in progress. That's even more painful than getting stomped for a week (we've had both happen to us, thanks blackgate!), at least then you know what you're getting. We spent 4 days getting a 20k lead, lots of overtime, BG gets some EU transfers and they pull an all nighter at the same time... 60k points in 1 day.
Either solution is fine to me though.
There was a post specifically saying the Devs did intend for them to be using mesmer portals, the only issue they had with mesmer portals was them glitching inside keeps. I don't know about waypoints though, I can't see THAT being a big issue though if they're going to allow mesmer portals.
Random complaint, but I believe that clearing a dungeon boss by zerging is one of the worst gameplay features of GW2.
They really should put timers on dungeon runs.
Or just lock people out of the "arena" if they do WP. Having fucked around with some more dungeons, I'm of the mind that both trash and bosses need work. Did the Rosolov path of SF the other night and the part after you take out the 5 mini-bosses or whatever was just dumb with like 6 bombers spawning all at once lobbing AoE blah. And this was just a shitty trash pull that basically mirrored again soon after. Could've seen it being okay with a mix of plains and elites, but if for some reason they decided to focus fire on someone, they were usually dead since evasion rolls were quickly expended. And of course, trying to revive said person would just get you a ton of AoE lobbed onto yourself. Yeah, I'm sure some party layouts would breeze through a situation like that, but I'd also think that's something you want to avoid given the whole emphasis of dumping the holy trinity on top.
Meanwhile, some bosses just take for-fucking-ever to kill without being any real threat.
That's so true about dynamic events' bosses as well.Meanwhile, some bosses just take for-fucking-ever to kill without being any real threat.
We stood like 5-10 minutes to kill 3 dogs and a centaur shaman in Harathi. 20+ people means you can try as much as you want, but you won't die. Or die and be immediately ressed.
You can dish out damage to lower the boss health by like 1%, or just auto attack and lower the boss health by 0,5% or so. Your whole screen will also turn into a gorgeous mess of every possible particle effect there is.
It'd hard for me to see the point in that. If they're making so that players won't wipe, then making the fight that long serves no purpose.
This dungeon makes me want to kill myself and I still need like 560 badges from it(3 more days) qqqqqqqqqqq
Some of the bosses are REALLY fun and cool, but the infinite HP snooezefest bosses completely ruin it. If they fixed the infinite HP bosses it'd be my favorite dungeon![]()
