when I was younger I was diagnosed lactose intolerant apparently, our family had to be on Goat's Milk and shit (sis never forgives me for this lol, shit is kind of nastay) but then suddenly around age 7/8 I think it just "went away", idfk, I can drink milk and eat cheese with absolutely 0 negative effects now. I think it might've been a ploy by my mom to get us to eat healthier or some crap but w/e, just seemed odd.

This time magazine cover caused a lot of debates awhile back. (semi nsfw, woman breastfeeding)

Basically, most women in the US tend to follow the formula of breast feeding for 6 months, adding in cereal at 4 months, and baby food at the 6 months mark with milk suppliments for until the baby is about a year old.

Many moms stop even way before that.

I was reading that a lot of other countries do it for much longer than that, but I can't verify that.

Anyway, many woman now are breastfeeding until the child stops wanting it. The child in the time's cover is 3. I found this article:

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...lder-kids.html

Video of a woman who breastfed one daughter until 5, and is still breastfeeding her second who is eight: (note, again nsfw because of breastfeeding)

Now, for me, I still plan to stick to the method I described above, especially since I have a low supply as is, and have to supplement with formula. I will say though the doctor always acts like I just told her I'm Hitler's best friend when I mention that. I think many US pediatricians are trying to get woman to extend to at least two years.

So bg, when is it too long? or is there never a limit?

being able to eat it without feeling bad is entirely different than digesting it without problems

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Yeah. I saw that too. It had a follow up article too, about how humans are the only species to cook their own food, then eat at a table on a regular basis.

lol, come on. Of course we're the only species, its not like we're going around suckling on a cow though.

well no, but you see a fair amount of interspecies symbiosis/parasitic stuff. just seems odd that none would tap into nursing.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. That is a prime example.

How much of it is 'it benefits the child' and how much of it is 'mommy has attachment issues'?

Not trying to joke here. I definitely see the argument for building a strong immune system, but as someone brought up: After a certain point, the kid's more or less capped out on that benefit pretty early on.

Dunno: Breastfeeding after a certain point seems like an example of 'just because you can doesn't mean it's a good idea'

It's a problem with how woo-woos think. Anything good for you in small doses is better in large doses, and anything bad for you in large doses is just as bad in miniscule doses. Nothing "natural" can ever be bad and nothing synthetic can ever (unless another woo-woo is promoting it) be good. Their little indigo child is special thanks to super-mommy.
